Bogotá, 3 de diciembre de 2025 (@MinInterior)-.El ministro del Interior, Armando Benedetti, informó hoy a los medios de comunicación que, tras un análisis forense realizado a su teléfono celular, se encontró evidencia de un software de espionaje altamente sofisticado, similar a ‘Pegasus’, instalado de manera remota.

Según explicó el ministro, un profesional experto realizó un examen técnico del dispositivo. El informe determinó la presencia de un virus malicioso capaz de activarse incluso a través de una llamada perdida. Este tipo de software permite convertir el teléfono en un micrófono y cámara en tiempo real, otorgando acceso total a la información y actividades del usuario.

“El estudio forense confirmó que mi teléfono tenía un software malicioso que permite espionaje en tiempo real. Es tecnología que solo puede adquirir un gobierno o una entidad con gran capacidad económica y técnica”, afirmó Benedetti.

El ministro señaló que este tipo de herramientas de vigilancia suelen costar entre 5 y 10 millones de dólares, lo que limita su uso a actores estatales o a organizaciones con poder económico excepcional. Aunque evitó señalar responsables, recordó antecedentes en el país relacionados con el uso irregular de este tipo de sistemas.

“No estoy acusando a nadie, pero es un hecho que en Colombia ya hubo precedentes con Pegasus. Al principio se negó su existencia y después se confirmó. Es un tema que debe investigarse”, añadió.

Benedetti indicó que conservará el informe electromagnético y el dictamen técnico realizados, y que está dispuesto a presentarlos ante las autoridades competentes si así se requiere.

Finalmente, reiteró que el hallazgo es grave y que espera que las instituciones pertinentes puedan esclarecer quién está detrás de esta intervención ilegal.

According to the minister, an expert professional conducted a technical examination of the device. The report determined the presence of a malicious virus capable of activating even through a missed call. This type of software allows a phone to be turned into a microphone and camera in real time, granting complete access to the user’s information and activities.

“The forensic analysis confirmed that my phone had malicious software that allows real-time espionage. This is technology that only a government or an entity with significant economic and technical capacity can acquire,” Benedetti stated.

The minister pointed out that these types of surveillance tools typically cost between 5 and 10 million dollars, which limits their use to state actors or organizations with exceptional economic power. Although he avoided naming those responsible, he recalled past incidents in the country related to the irregular use of these types of systems.

“I am not accusing anyone, but it is a fact that there have been precedents in Colombia with Pegasus. At first, its existence was denied, and later it was confirmed. It is an issue that must be investigated,” he added.

Benedetti indicated that he will keep the electromagnetic report and the technical analysis, and that he is willing to present them to the competent authorities if required.

Finally, he reiterated that the discovery is serious and that he hopes the relevant institutions can clarify who is behind this illegal intervention.
