Tras 15 días de paro indefinido en la Universidad Libre Seccional Pereira, estudiantes, maestros y padres de familia se movilizaron por las calles de Pereira en busca de apoyo de las autoridades locales y regionales.

Estudiantes, maestros y padres de familia se unieron en una marcha para exigir a la Universidad Libre que cumpla con los estándares de alta calidad prometidos, piden garantizar la estabilidad laboral de los profesores y mejor la calidad educativa  ofrecida por la institución.

Además  rechazan la mala gestión dentro de la universidad, sí como la falta de respuesta por parte de las autoridades.

Los participantes coinciden en que se busca destacar la importancia de resolver las demandas académicas y laborales que han generado la paralización de actividades en la institución desde el 3 de abril.

En entrevista con la rectora Adriama Vellejo de la Pava, expresó su disposición al dialogo con todos los estamentos de la universidad y reafirmo su compromiso de atender cualquier inquietud o petición que surja.

Destacó que desde el 3 de abril, cuando comenzó el paro, se han buscado soluciones a través del dialogo, pero se han enfrentado obstáculos,  incluyendo la negativa  del presidente nacional de la universidad a responder a las solicitudes de la rectora.

After 15 days of indefinite strike at the Universidad Libre Seccional Pereira, students, teachers and parents mobilized through the streets of Pereira in search of support from local and regional authorities.

Students, teachers and parents joined in a march to demand that the Free University comply with the promised high quality standards, they asked to guarantee the job stability of teachers and improve the educational quality offered by the institution.

They also reject poor management within the university, as well as the lack of response from the authorities.

The participants agree that they seek to highlight the importance of resolving the academic and labor demands that have generated the paralysis of activities at the institution since April 3.
