Deportivo Pereira volverá a Pelear las finales del futbol profesional colombiano.

Ni con las 10 fechas de invicto sin conocer la derrota, ni  cambió la mentalidad y paso a paso del Deportivo Pereira que inicialmente  pudo haberse clasificado anticipadamente frente a Envigado o Jaguares, por mencionar algunas de las fechas , por lo que los Matecañas lo hicieron en pleno Atanasio Girardot, plaza en la que el equipo no ganaba hace 16 años frente al Atlético Nacional, rival al que de paso, eliminó del torneo.

Desde que se juega el formato de todos contra todos con dos campeonatos por semestre, en la segunda vez que Deportivo Pereira logra clasificar a los cuadrangulares en el apertura de visitante, más  exactamente en el Atanasio Girardot

participó en el triunfo rojiamarillo en territorio antioqueño, este vez con su gol.

Cados Darwin Quintero llegó a su partido número 50 con el Deportivo Pereira: 34 en 2008 y 16 en la presente temporada.

Además, acumula 25 goles, 17 en 2008 y ocho en la actualidad.
