Los habitantes de la “Querendona Pereira” respiraron un nuevo aire, libre de contaminaciones, en silencio y tranquilidad, durante 12 horas continuas (7 de la mañana a 7 de la noche) del martes 26 de septiembre 2023. Las autoridades agradecieron el comportamiento positivo de sus habitantes. Iguales reportes se evidenciaron desde Dosquebradas, La Virginia y Santa Rosa de Cabal que hicieron efectivas las medidas adoptadas para el DÍA SIN CARRO Y SIN MOTO.

El Instituto de Movilidad de Pereira señaló que la jornada se llevó a cabo por espacio de 12 horas, entre las 7:00 de la mañana y las 7:00 de la noche.

Pereira, Dosquebradas, La Virginia y Santa Rosa de Cabal realizaron el martes 26 de septiembre una nueva jornada del Día sin Carro y Sin Moto, una iniciativa que fue fijada por acuerdo metropolitano en el año 2012.

La iniciativa incentivó la utilización de los medios de transporte limpios y alternativos, consolidó y fortaleció el uso del transporte público, mejorar los indicadores de la calidad del aire, disminuir los índices de accidentalidad y optimizar la movilidad en Pereira y el área metropolitana, expresó el alcalde de Pereira, Carlos Maya.

De acuerdo con el mandatario de los Pereiranos, dejaron de circular aproximadamente 75000 vehículos particulares en la ciudad, con lo cual se disminuyó notoriamente la emisión de gases contaminantes, ayudando a respirar mejor al planeta.

Por otra parte, el director del Instituto de Movilidad de Pereira, IMP, Andrés Felipe, afirmó que los vehículos de emergencias (ambulancias, bomberos, Defensa Civil, Cruz Roja, equipos logísticos para la atención de rescates y siniestros, atención médica personalizada), y los Medios de Comunicación legalmente acreditados, estuvieron exentos de la medida.
