En Risaralda, el Ejército Nacional logró el sometimiento a la justicia de una mujer que pertenecía al grupo armado Cartel del Clan del Golfo.

Esta mujer provenía del departamento de Antioquia y había llegado junto a su compañero sentimental para integrar el componente criminal focalizado en Risaralda.

En el marco del Plan de Campaña Ayacucho Plus, tropas del Batallón de Artillería de Campaña n.° 8 San Mateo lograron el sometimiento a la justicia de una joven que hacía parte del grupo armado organizado, GAO, Clan del Golfo.

Durante una operación de reconocimiento adelantada por las tropas, esta mujer, conocida con el alias de Camila Zapata, se acercó a los soldados en la vereda El Caucho, municipio de Mistrató, manifestando su pertenencia a este grupo delincuencial y su intención de acogerse a los beneficios que otorga el Estado colombiano.

Este caso corresponde a la primera mujer que se somete a la justicia en Risaralda perteneciente a la subestructura Edwin Román Velásquez Valle del GAO Clan del Golfo. Según la información suministrada, llevaba más de tres meses en el departamento bajo órdenes de alias Cholo, desempeñando labores logísticas y aprovechando su condición para pasar desapercibida ante las autoridades.

Alias Camila Zapata tomó la decisión de someterse a la justicia tras conocer que su pareja sentimental fue trasladada al departamento de Antioquia y posteriormente asesinada, al parecer, por integrantes de la misma organización criminal. A esto se suma la presión operacional ejercida por las tropas del Batallón San Mateo en el occidente del departamento.

Este sometimiento representa una afectación significativa para este grupo armado organizado, ya que permite obtener información valiosa sobre la reestructuración de la subestructura Edwin Román Velásquez Valle, luego de las capturas realizadas por la Fuerza Pública desde el año anterior, y contribuye al debilitamiento de sus capacidades logísticas.

El Ejército Nacional, a través del Batallón de Artillería de Campaña n.° 8 San Mateo, continuará trabajando de manera articulada para contrarrestar las acciones de los grupos delincuenciales que pretenden afectar la seguridad y tranquilidad de la región.
