La Navidad continúa en los barrios de Armenia, gracias al Batallón de Apoyo y Servicio para el Combate N.° 8.

A lo lejos, los habitantes del barrio Salvador Allende la Mariela escucharon que se acercaba una banda de guerra, como si se tratara de un desfile patrio o militar; ante la expectativa frente al inusual hecho en este sector de la ciudad de Armenia, Quindío, sus habitantes salieron a presenciar de que se trataba esta visita.

A la llegada de los soldados, entonando notas marciales, se dieron cuenta de que junto a los músicos habían llegado soldados caracterizando a Papá Noel y a otros personajes propios de la época decembrina.

Se trataba del comandante del Batallón de Apoyo y Servicio para el Combate N.° 8, que, con el propósito de llevar alegría a la población más vulnerable de la ciudad, contagió de su espíritu de la Navidad a los hombres bajo su mando, y unidos llegaron con la alegría y con más de 60 regalos para los niños y niñas que habitan en este sector.

Entre sonrisas, saludos y gratitud, la población recibió a estos uniformados, que, por un momento, dejaron sus actividades propias del quehacer militar, para entregar momentos de felicidad a los más pequeños, un hecho que muy seguramente quedará en la memoria de los vecinos del barrio Salvador Allende.

Christmas continues in the neighborhoods of Armenia, thanks to the 8th Combat Support and Service Battalion.

In the distance, residents of the Salvador Allende la Mariela neighborhood heard a marching band approaching, as if it were a patriotic or military parade. Intrigued by this unusual event in their part of Armenia, Quindío, the residents went outside to see what this visit was all about.

Upon the arrival of the soldiers, playing martial tunes, they realized that along with the musicians were soldiers dressed as Santa Claus and other characters typical of the Christmas season.

It was the commander of the 8th Combat Support and Service Battalion, who, with the purpose of bringing joy to the city’s most vulnerable population, shared his Christmas spirit with the men under his command, and together they arrived with joy and more than 60 gifts for the children living in this area.

Amid smiles, greetings, and gratitude, the residents welcomed these uniformed personnel, who, for a moment, set aside their military duties to bring joy to the children—an event that will surely remain in the memory of the residents of the Salvador Allende neighborhood.
