Miles de personas acudieron al Capitolio Nacional para despedir al senador Miguel Uribe.

El precandidato presidencial y senador Miguel Uribe murió en la madrugada del lunes, 11 de agosto, y desde esa misma fecha estuvo siendo velado en cámara ardiente, en el Capitolio Nacional.

La velación de Uribe Turbay es hasta este miércoles 13 de agosto, en el marco de los honores póstumos organizados por las mesas directivas de Senado y Cámara de Representantes.

El féretro llegó a las 9:00 de la noche del lunes y fue recibido por figuras políticas y allegados al senador, entre ellos los expresidentes Juan Manuel Santos y César Gaviria, así como Enrique Peñalosa y Alejandro Gaviria, además de su familia.

En diálogo con La W, María Carolina Hoyos reveló el lugar en donde su hermano, Miguel Uribe, será sepultado este miércoles, 13 de agosto.

Posteriormente, según contó Hoyos, “Miguel va a ir a un sitio muy lindo y muy especial, quedará al lado de muchos grandes, en el Cementerio Central”.

Cabe recordar que en este cementerio están enterradas reconocidas figuras colombianas de diversos sectores como Luis Carlos Galán, Rafael Pombo, Carlos Pizarro, Eduardo Santos, entre otros.

A las 9:00 de la mañana de este miércoles, 13 de agosto, habrá un homenaje exclusivo para familiares y parlamentarios en el Congreso y a las 12:00 del mediodía, se celebrará la misa exequial en la Catedral Primada de Colombia, oficiada por el cardenal José Luis Rueda Aparicio.

Después, se realizará un recorrido hasta el Cementerio Central, donde se dará el último adiós al senador.

“Este homenaje no solo es un momento de memoria y reconocimiento, sino también un ejercicio de responsabilidad ciudadana. Hemos dispuesto todos los recursos para que se viva con respeto, seguridad y orden, como Miguel siempre lo hubiera querido para Bogotá”, dijo el secretario de Gobierno, Gustavo Quintero.

Se dispondrán cierres viales temporales y planes de desvío, así como puntos de información y orientación ciudadana para quienes participen en la jornada.

Thousands of people gathered at the National Capitol to bid farewell to Senator Miguel Uribe.

Presidential candidate and Senator Miguel Uribe died in the early hours of Monday, August 11, and has been lying in state since that same day in state at the National Capitol.

Uribe Turbay’s wake will continue until this Wednesday, August 13, as part of the posthumous honors organized by the governing boards of the Senate and House of Representatives.
