Tras combates en Briceño, Antioquia, Ejército Nacional neutralizó a un integrante del Cartel del Clan del Golfo e incautó ametralladora y explosivos.

Con el fortalecimiento de la presencia institucional se ha logrado contrarrestar el accionar delictivo de los grupos armados organizados, al tiempo que se brinda acompañamiento a las familias en su retorno seguro a sus hogares, tras las afectaciones ocasionadas por estas estructuras ilegales.

En las últimas horas, soldados del Batallón de Artillería de Campaña n.° 4, de la Cuarta Brigada, sostuvieron combates contra presuntos integrantes del Cartel del Clan del Golfo en el corregimiento Las Auras, municipio de Briceño, Antioquia, donde este grupo criminal ha venido generando temor en la población civil debido a la disputa por el control territorial con el grupo armado organizado residual, GAO-r, Estructura 36.

Como resultado de los combates se registró la muerte en desarrollo de operaciones militares de un presunto integrante de este grupo ilegal, así como la incautación de material de guerra e intendencia. Entre los elementos hallados se encuentran: una ametralladora calibre 7,62 mm, una pistola calibre 9 mm, 331 cartuchos 7,62 eslabonada, un cañón de repuesto para la ametralladora, cinco granadas para MGL, tres artefactos explosivos improvisados y una culata.

La incautación de esta arma de acompañamiento, caracterizada por su alto poder de fuego y alcance, permite disminuir significativamente la capacidad armada del grupo ilegal, limitando su accionar delictivo en la zona.

Así mismo, fueron hallados elementos de uso privativo de las Fuerzas Militares como equipos de campaña, chaleco, prendas de uso militar, material táctico, cantimplora, botas y un cuaderno, los cuales serían empleados para el desarrollo de actividades ilícitas en la región.

De igual forma, en la vereda La Vélez, también en zona rural de Briceño, tras otros combates contra esta estructura criminal se logró la incautación de 39 cartuchos calibre 5,56 mm y un proveedor. 

El Ejército Nacional continuará firme en el territorio, adelantando operaciones militares en esta subregión, con el propósito de neutralizar las estructuras criminales que delinquen allí, velando por la protección de la población civil. Así mismo, se invita a la ciudadanía a denunciar cualquier hecho que afecte la seguridad del territorio a través de las líneas dispuestas por las autoridades.

Following clashes in Briceño, Antioquia, the National Army neutralized a member of the Clan del Golfo Cartel and seized a machine gun and explosives.

With the strengthening of the institutional presence, it has been possible to counteract the criminal activities of organized armed groups, while also providing support to families in their safe return to their homes after the harm caused by these illegal groups.

In recent hours, soldiers from the 4th Field Artillery Battalion of the Fourth Brigade engaged in combat with suspected members of the Clan del Golfo Cartel in the village of Las Auras, municipality of Briceño, Antioquia. This criminal group has been generating fear among the civilian population due to its dispute for territorial control with the residual organized armed group (GAO-r), Structure 36.

As a result of the fighting, one suspected member of this illegal group was killed during military operations, and weapons and supplies were seized. Among the items found were: a 7.62 mm machine gun, a 9 mm pistol, 331 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, a spare machine gun barrel, five MGL grenades, three improvised explosive devices, and a gun stock.

The seizure of this secondary weapon, characterized by its high firepower and range, significantly reduces the armed capacity of the illegal group, limiting its criminal activities in the area.

Likewise, items for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces were found, such as field equipment, a vest, military clothing, tactical gear, a canteen, boots, and a notebook, which would have been used for illicit activities in the region.

Similarly, in the village of La Vélez, also in the rural area of ​​Briceño, after further clashes with this criminal organization, 39 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition and a magazine were seized.

The National Army will maintain a strong presence in the territory, conducting military operations in this subregion to neutralize the criminal organizations operating there and ensure the protection of the civilian population.
