El Batallón de Artillería de Campaña N.° 8 San Mateo refuerza las operaciones en la mitad de los municipios del departamento, con el respaldo de la Quinta División del Ejército Nacional.

Como parte de la ejecución del Plan de Campaña Estratégico Conjunto Ayacucho Plus, y en respuesta al llamado institucional para fortalecer la gobernabilidad y la presencia del Estado en zonas estratégicas del país, la Quinta División trabaja de manera articulada con la Octava Brigada y el Batallón San Mateo, para robustecer la seguridad en Risaralda.

El incremento de operaciones militares se ha focalizado en los municipios de Pueblo Rico, Mistrató, Belén de Umbría, Guática, Quinchía, Apía y Santuario, territorios que requieren una intervención precisa y sostenida para garantizar el control del terreno, proteger a la población civil y neutralizar cualquier amenaza a la seguridad.

En cumplimiento de los compromisos adquiridos durante el último consejo extraordinario de seguridad departamental, la Octava Brigada, a través del Batallón San Mateo, continúa con la reconfiguración del dispositivo militar en los 14 municipios de Risaralda, optimizando sus capacidades operacionales, reforzando la inteligencia local y ejecutando maniobras tácticas acordes con el dinamismo del ambiente operacional.

El Ejército Nacional reafirma su compromiso con el bienestar de toda la población civil del departamento de Risaralda, y seguirá desarrollando acciones sostenidas que contribuyan a la consolidación de la seguridad y la paz en la región.

As part of the implementation of the Ayacucho Plus Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, and in response to the institutional call to strengthen governability and the state’s presence in strategic areas of the country, the Fifth Division is working in coordination with the 8th Brigade and the San Mateo Battalion to strengthen security in Risaralda.

The increase in military operations has focused on the municipalities of Pueblo Rico, Mistrató, Belén de Umbría, Guática, Quinchía, Apía, and Santuario, territories that require precise and sustained intervention to guarantee control of the terrain, protect the civilian population, and neutralize any security threats.

In compliance with the commitments made during the last extraordinary departmental security council, the Eighth Brigade, through the San Mateo Battalion, continues to reconfigure the military presence in the 14 municipalities of Risaralda, optimizing its operational capabilities, strengthening local intelligence, and executing tactical maneuvers in line with the dynamic operational environment.

The National Army reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of the entire civilian population of the department of Risaralda and will continue to carry out sustained actions that contribute to consolidating security and peace in the region.
