En Chocó, cuatro integrantes del Clan del Golfo se sometieron a la justicia ante presión de las tropas del Ejército

Las operaciones militares adelantadas permitieron este resultado. Los sujetos, integrantes del grupo armado organizado Clan del Golfo, tomaron la decisión de retornar a la legalidad, así como también se logró la recuperación de un menor de edad.

En el desarrollo de operaciones militares adelantadas en el marco del Plan de Campaña Ayacucho Plus, soldados de la Décima Quinta Brigada desplegados sobre Puerto Meluk, en el municipio del Medio Baudó, Chocó, lograron el sometimiento a la justicia de un sujeto conocido como alias Mechas, presunto integrante de la Subestructura Leónidas de la Rosa Vásquez de la Estructura Jairo de Jesús Durango Restrepo del GAO Clan del Golfo.

Este sujeto con aproximadamente ocho años en la organización, al parecer ocupaba el cargo de cabecilla de zona, teniendo como sectores de influencia los municipios de Alto, Medio y Bajo Baudó. Así mismo, era el encargado del control de las economías ilícitas, rutas de narcotráfico y la explotación ilícita de yacimientos mineros; también la organización de los componentes armados, logísticos  y las redes de apoyo entre las subestructuras, así como el suministro de material de guerra.

Entre las acciones delictivas adelantadas estaba el constreñimiento a la población civil, reclutamiento forzado e inteligencia delictiva a la Fuerza Pública.

Por otra parte, en zona rural del municipio de Riosucio, dos sujetos más, integrantes de la Subestructura Pablo José Montalvo Cuitiva, se presentaron ante las tropas con el firme propósito de someterse a la justicia y buscar nuevas oportunidades de vida. Estas personas al parecer hacían parte del componente criminal focalizado y eran los encargados de realizar labores de inteligencia delictiva.

A su vez, en la vereda La Borrera del municipio de Novita, desertó de las filas del Gao Clan del Golfo un hombre que manifestó ser integrante de la Subestructura Jhon Fredy Orejuela, quien se entregó de manera voluntaria ante los soldados de la Décima Quinta Brigada y a su vez realizó la entrega de un fusil, cinco proveedores, munición calibre 5,56 mm y un material de comunicaciones.

De acuerdo a lo manifestado por los sometidos, en su mayoría, decidieron abandonar este grupo armado debido a la constante presencia de las tropas, las confrontaciones presentadas con los demás grupos armados presentes en ese departamento; a su vez con la firme intención de retornar junto a sus familias e iniciar un nuevo proyecto de vida.

En cuanto al menor de edad recuperado en el municipio de Riosucio, quien llevaba un tiempo aproximado de un año de haber sido reclutado por esta estructura, fue entregado al personal del Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar para activar la ruta de atención y el restablecimiento de sus derechos.

El material incautado fue puesto a disposición de las autoridades competentes para adelantar su proceso de judicialización.

A través de estos importantes resultados, se logra un significativo golpe al componente armado de este grupo al margen de la ley, disminuyendo sus intenciones de expansión y de manera indirecta sus economías ilícitas.

El Ejército Nacional continuará trabajando por la seguridad de los habitantes del departamento del Chocó e invita a todos los integrantes de este grupo armado a darse una nueva oportunidad retornando a la vida legal junto a sus familias.

During military operations carried out within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, soldiers from the Fifteenth Brigade deployed in Puerto Meluk, in the municipality of Medio Baudó, Chocó, successfully brought to justice an individual known as alias Mechas, an alleged member of the Leónidas de la Rosa Vásquez substructure of the Jairo de Jesús Durango Restrepo structure of the Clan del Golfo GAO.

This individual, who had been with the organization for approximately eight years, apparently held the position of regional leader, with influence in the municipalities of Alto, Medio, and Bajo Baudó. He was also responsible for controlling illicit economies, drug trafficking routes, and the illicit exploitation of mining deposits; he also managed the organization of armed and logistical components and support networks between the substructures, as well as the supply of war material.

Among the criminal actions carried out were the coercion of the civilian population, forced recruitment, and criminal intelligence for the Public Force.

Separately, in a rural area of ​​the municipality of Riosucio, two other individuals, members of the Pablo José Montalvo Cuitiva Substructure, presented themselves to the troops with the firm intention of submitting to justice and seeking new opportunities in life. These individuals were apparently part of the targeted criminal component and were responsible for conducting criminal intelligence work.

Meanwhile, in the La Borrera area of ​​the municipality of Novita, a man deserted the ranks of the Gao Clan del Golfo, claiming to be a member of the Jhon Fredy Orejuela Substructure. He voluntarily surrendered to soldiers of the Fifteenth Brigade and handed over a rifle, five magazines, 5.56 mm caliber ammunition, and communications equipment.

According to those arrested, most of them decided to leave this armed group due to the constant presence of troops and the confrontations with other armed groups in that department. They also had the firm intention of returning to their families and starting a new life.

Regarding the minor recovered in the municipality of Riosucio, who had been recruited by this group for approximately a year, he was handed over to the staff of the Colombian Family Welfare Institute to initiate treatment and restore his rights.

The seized material was made available to the competent authorities to advance their prosecution.

Through these important results, a significant blow has been dealt to the armed component of this illegal group, diminishing its expansion plans and, indirectly, its illicit operations.

The National Army will continue working for the safety of the residents of the department of Chocó and invites all members of this armed group to give themselves a new opportunity by returning to legal life with their families.
