Tropas del Ejército capturaron a cuatro sujetos extraditables en Valle del Cauca y Cauca

Los individuos eran requeridos mediante circular roja por las autoridades estadounidenses y se autodenominaban como Los Ford.

En una operación militar desarrollada de manera conjunta, coordinada e interinstitucional entre tropas de la Tercera División del Ejército Nacional, la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana, Policía Nacional y la Fiscalía General de la Nación, fueron capturados cuatro individuos solicitados con orden de extradición por el gobierno de Estados Unidos.

Las operaciones fueron realizadas de forma simultánea mediante órdenes de allanamiento en los municipios de Cali y Jamundí, en Valle del Cauca, y Santander de Quilichao, en el Cauca, gracias a la articulación de capacidades de inteligencia adelantadas durante varias semanas, lo que permitió la ubicación y captura de los sujetos, quienes se ocultaban en zonas urbanas y residenciales. Las acciones estuvieron a cargo del Gaula Militar Valle y de Cauca, con el apoyo de unidades de inteligencia del Ejército y la Dirección Antinarcóticos de la Policía Nacional.

Los cuatro sujetos tenían orden judicial vigente con fines de extradición por los delitos de concierto para delinquir y tráfico de estupefacientes; así mismo, harían parte de una estructura criminal transnacional dedicada al envío de drogas hacia Centro y Norteamérica, y son considerados piezas clave dentro del engranaje del narcotráfico en el suroccidente del país. Según fuentes de inteligencia, esta organización formaba parte de una amenaza híbrida con conexiones logísticas y financieras internacionales.

Los detenidos fueron puestos a disposición de las autoridades competentes, que adelantan el proceso de judicialización y extradición conforme a los tratados internacionales vigentes.

El Ejército Nacional mantiene la ofensiva estratégica que permita combatir el crimen organizado y debilitar las estructuras que amenazan la seguridad nacional y regional; asimismo, continuará con el desarrollo de operaciones militares que contribuyan en la protección de la vida de quienes habitan en el suroccidente colombiano.

In a joint, coordinated, and inter-institutional military operation involving troops from the Third Division of the National Army, the Colombian Aerospace Force, the National Police, and the Attorney General’s Office, four individuals wanted by the US government were captured.

The operations were carried out simultaneously through search warrants in the municipalities of Cali and Jamundí, in Valle del Cauca, and Santander de Quilichao, in Cauca, thanks to the coordination of intelligence capabilities developed over several weeks. This led to the location and capture of the individuals, who were hiding in urban and residential areas. The operations were carried out by the Valle and Cauca Military Gaula (Gaula Militares), with the support of Army intelligence units and the National Police’s Anti-Narcotics Directorate.

The four individuals had an outstanding extradition warrant for conspiracy to commit a crime and drug trafficking. They were also believed to be part of a transnational criminal organization dedicated to shipping drugs to Central and North America and are considered key players in the drug trafficking network in the southwest of the country. According to intelligence sources, this organization was part of a hybrid threat with international logistical and financial connections.

The detainees were handed over to the competent authorities, who are advancing the prosecution and extradition process in accordance with current international treaties.

The National Army maintains its strategic offensive to combat organized crime and weaken the structures that threaten national and regional security. It will also continue to carry out military operations that contribute to protecting the lives of those living in southwestern Colombia.
