Ejército Nacional captura a alias Danilo, presunto segundo cabecilla del GAO-r Frente Joaquín González

El sujeto sería el encargado de dirigir acciones terroristas y extorsiones en el departamento del Tolima, coordinando actividades delictivas con otros miembros de la estructura criminal.

Hasta el corregimiento de San Juan de la China, soldados del Batallón de Infantería N.° 18 Coronel Jaime Rooke, de la Sexta Brigada, en operaciones coordinadas con la Policía Nacional, lograron la captura de alias Danilo, presunto segundo cabecilla del grupo armado organizado residual (GAO-r) Frente Joaquín González, junto a dos presuntos integrantes más de esta estructura.

Alias Danilo habría asumido este cargo desde 2025, teniendo injerencia en el área general de los municipios de Roncesvalles, Rovira, Ibagué y Cajamarca. Se le atribuye la exigencia de cuotas extorsivas a comerciantes y agricultores mediante amenazas y presión para mantener el control territorial. Además, habría organizado reuniones con presidentes de juntas de acción comunal, con el objetivo de aterrorizar a la población y establecer supuestos voceros que transmitían información a la organización. 

También se le señala como responsable del control de corredores estratégicos de movilidad en el Tolima, asegurando presencia armada en municipios clave como Cajamarca, Ibagué, Rovira, Ortega, Roncesvalles, San Antonio, Coyaima, Natagaima, Prado, Cunday, Icononzo y Villarrica. Finalmente, habría realizado el reclutamiento de nuevos miembros para la organización criminal, proporcionando entrenamiento terrorista y político para fortalecer la estructura del GAO-r.

En esta operación, también fueron capturados dos sujetos más con material de guerra. Los tres integrantes de la estructura fueron puestos a disposición de la autoridad competente por los delitos de rebelión, homicidio, fuga de presos, hurto calificado y secuestro extorsivo.

La Sexta Brigada ha logrado varios golpes contundentes contra este grupo. El 8 de febrero de 2025, en el desarrollo de operaciones militares, murió alias Cancharino, cabecilla financiero del Bloque Jorge Suárez Briceño, quien había asumido el liderazgo del GAO-r Frente Joaquín González. El 12 de febrero de 2025 fue capturado alias Tique, integrante de la RAER del GAO-r Frente Joaquín González, en zona rural de Roncesvalles. El 3 de marzo de 2025 fueron capturados dos integrantes del GAO-r Joaquín González con material de guerra, además de la recuperación de un menor en la vereda La Esmeralda, del municipio de Rovira. El 15 de abril de 2025 fue capturado alias Fabián, quien asumió como cabecilla del GAO-r Frente Joaquín González, tras la muerte de alias Cancharino. Junto a él fueron detenidos tres de sus cómplices, alias Zarco, Julián y el Indio, en zona rural del municipio de Icononzo.

Con la captura de alias Fabián, la estructura criminal ahora estaría liderada por alias Efrén, cabecilla del GAO-r Frente Joaquín González, por quien el gobierno departamental ofrece una recompensa de 50 millones de pesos.

Alias ​​Danilo reportedly held this position in 2025, having influence in the general area of ​​the municipalities of Roncesvalles, Rovira, Ibagué, and Cajamarca. He is accused of demanding extortionate fees from merchants and farmers through threats and pressure to maintain territorial control. He also allegedly organized meetings with community action board presidents, with the aim of terrorizing the population and establishing supposed spokespersons who transmitted information to the organization.

He is also identified as responsible for controlling strategic mobility corridors in Tolima, ensuring an armed presence in key municipalities such as Cajamarca, Ibagué, Rovira, Ortega, Roncesvalles, San Antonio, Coyaima, Natagaima, Prado, Cunday, Icononzo, and Villarrica. Finally, he allegedly recruited new members for the criminal organization, providing terrorist and political training to strengthen the GAO-r structure.

In this operation, two more individuals were also captured with war material. The three members of the organization were brought before the competent authorities for the crimes of rebellion, homicide, prison escape, aggravated theft, and kidnapping for ransom.

The Sixth Brigade has achieved several significant blows against this group. On February 8, 2025, during military operations, alias Cancharino, the financial leader of the Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc, who had assumed leadership of the GAO-r Joaquín González Front, was killed. On February 12, 2025, alias Tique, a member of the RAER of the GAO-r Joaquín González Front, was captured in a rural area of ​​Roncesvalles. On March 3, 2025, two members of the GAO-r Joaquín González Front were captured with military material, and a minor was recovered in the village of La Esmeralda, in the municipality of Rovira. On April 15, 2025, alias Fabián, who assumed the leadership of the GAO-r Joaquín González Front, was captured after the death of alias Cancharino. Along with him, three of his accomplices, aliases Zarco, Julián, and El Indio, were arrested in a rural area of ​​the municipality of Icononzo.

With the capture of alias Fabián, the criminal organization is now reportedly led by alias Efrén, leader of the GAO-r Joaquín González Front, for whom the departmental government is offering a reward of 50 million pesos.
