According to military intelligence, alias Monchi is believed to be the main driving force and financial coordinator of this armed group. Their role consisted of managing and mobilizing resources obtained through the forced displacement of farmers and the appropriation of banana-producing farms, whose products were then sold on a large scale in warehouses located in Bogotá.
The profits generated by this illicit activity were subsequently reinvested in the armed group through the acquisition of logistical and supply equipment, strengthening its criminal capacity in the region.
The operation was carried out simultaneously in the villages of La Laguna and La Pesquera, and in the town of Arauquita, where alias Calilla, alias “Perro,” and alias Zancudo, members of their criminal component, were also captured.
The National Army continues its operational offensive in the department of Arauca, reaffirming its commitment to the security, defense, and well-being of the population, and reiterating that no organized armed group is above the law.
