Today is the 71st day of the year, a date recorded in the metropolitan area where 28 popular brand vehicles have been stolen, 15 more units than in 2023, when there were 13 in the same season.
Everything indicates that it is an organization that has a defined modus operandi, which has been recorded in security cameras; The crimes are committed during the early hours of the morning, in neighborhood parking lots.
Apparently the preference for a car brand is related to its prevalence in the taxi-type vehicles that operate in the city of Cali, that is, they take them there to sell them in parts.

FEW OPERATIONS

In 2020, the authorities only managed to dismantle a gang dedicated to vehicle theft in the month of September 2023, where 5 people were arrested.
However, despite the increase in this crime in 2024, no operation has been carried out to dismantle the subjects dedicated to this type of crimes.
