El 19 de marzo rendimos homenaje a un antiguo oficio manual que requiere destreza y creatividad para la creación de piezas artísticas únicas y originales. Se celebra el Día Internacional del Artesano.
La fecha de celebración de este día internacional coincide con el Día de San José celebrado por la religión católica, quien era carpintero y artesano de oficio.
La principal finalidad de esta efeméride es la de exaltar el talento, creatividad e imaginación de los artesanos. Asimismo, promover el trabajo artesanal de estos artistas manuales.
Ser un artesano es crear arte, mediante la utilización de todos los sentidos. Un artesano es aquella persona dedicada a la elaboración manual de objetos artesanales, aplicando el ingenio y la originalidad para la creación de piezas y objetos, con el apoyo de herramientas.
La elaboración de artesanías es un proceso que se transmite de generación en generación, el cual requiere de la aplicación y perfeccionamiento de técnicas con cierta destreza y precisión.
Se utilizan materiales de diversa índole tales como: madera, cobre, barro, cuero, roca, hierro, cerámica, estaño y fibras vegetales.
Entre las piezas y objetos elaborados artesanalmente con un valor estético y/o utilitario se destacan: prendas de vestir, recipientes, objetos decorativos, juguetes didácticos, muebles, joyas, instrumentos musicales, escultura y otros enseres. Estos se destinan a la venta de manera directa e informal, sin intermediarios.

On March 19 we pay tribute to an ancient manual craft that requires skill and creativity to create unique and original artistic pieces. International Craftsman’s Day is celebrated.

The date of celebration of this international day coincides with the Day of Saint Joseph celebrated by the Catholic religion, who was a carpenter and craftsman by trade.

The main purpose of this anniversary is to exalt the talent, creativity and imagination of artisans. Likewise, promote the artisanal work of these manual artists.

To be an artisan is to create art, by using all the senses. An artisan is a person dedicated to the manual production of artisanal objects, applying ingenuity and originality to the creation of pieces and objects, with the support of tools.

The production of crafts is a process that is transmitted from generation to generation, which requires the application and perfection of techniques with certain skill and precision.

Various types of materials are used such as: wood, copper, clay, leather, rock, iron, ceramics, tin and plant fibers.

Among the pieces and objects made by hand with an aesthetic and/or utilitarian value, the following stand out: clothing, containers, decorative objects, educational toys, furniture, jewelry, musical instruments, sculpture and other belongings. These are intended for sale directly and informally, without intermediaries.
