En el Pacífico nariñense, Armada de Colombia interrumpió el tráfico de más de una tonelada de cocaína.

Durante el operativo se descubrió una diferente modalidad de narcotráfico mediante carga flotante.

En desarrollo de operaciones de control y seguridad integral marítima adelantadas por la Armada de Colombia en aguas del Pacífico nariñense, fue incautado un cargamento de clorhidrato de cocaína, que estaría avaluado en más de 11 millones de dólares y tendría como destino Centroamérica.

Gracias a información de Inteligencia Naval, que alertaba sobre una posible carga de estupefacientes en aguas del Pacífico sur, unidades de Guardacostas se desplegaron a 70 millas náuticas de Tumaco, en el departamento de Nariño, donde ubicaron el alijo flotando en el agua y atado a una boya.

Cabe destacar que, esta modalidad de narcotráfico consiste en colocar una carga de estupefacientes en el agua, que puede estar sumergida o no, en una posición y área previamente establecida, marcando su ubicación con un objeto flotante, para que otra embarcación pueda recuperarla sin necesidad de tener contacto entre ellas, con el fin de no despertar sospechas ante las autoridades.

Los uniformados recuperaron un total de 55 bultos que al parecer contenían sustancias ilícitas, los cuales fueron trasladados al muelle de la Estación de Guardacostas de Tumaco, donde el Cuerpo Técnico de Investigación –CTI- realizó la Prueba de Identificación Preliminar Homologada –PIPH-, determinando que se trataba de 1.090 kilogramos de clorhidrato de cocaína. El material fue puesto a disposición de las autoridades competentes.

Con esta incautación, la Institución Naval evitó la comercialización de cerca de tres millones de dosis de alcaloides en el mercado ilegal internacional.

La Armada de Colombia continúa desarrollando operaciones sostenidas contra el crimen transnacional del narcotráfico, con el fin de impedir que las aguas colombianas sean utilizadas como corredores para el transporte de sustancias ilícitas. Así mismo, invita a la ciudadanía a denunciar cualquier actividad sospechosa a través de las líneas 146 y 147, disponibles las 24 horas del día.

In the Pacific off the coast of Nariño, the Colombian Navy disrupted the trafficking of more than a ton of cocaine.

During the operation, a different method of drug trafficking using floating cargo was discovered.

As part of maritime control and comprehensive security operations carried out by the Colombian Navy in the waters off the Pacific coast of Nariño, a shipment of cocaine hydrochloride, valued at more than $11 million and destined for Central America, was seized.

Thanks to information from Naval Intelligence, which alerted authorities to a possible drug shipment in the waters of the South Pacific, Coast Guard units deployed 70 nautical miles off Tumaco, in the department of Nariño, where they located the shipment floating in the water and attached to a buoy.

It should be noted that this method of drug trafficking involves placing a shipment of narcotics in the water, which may be submerged or not, in a predetermined position and area. Its location is marked with a floating object so that another vessel can retrieve it without contact between the two vessels, thus avoiding raising suspicion among the authorities.

The officers recovered a total of 55 packages that appeared to contain illicit substances. These were transferred to the dock at the Tumaco Coast Guard Station, where the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) conducted a Preliminary Identification Test (PIPH), determining that the contents were 1,090 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. The material was turned over to the appropriate authorities.

With this seizure, the Navy prevented the distribution of approximately three million doses of narcotics on the international black market.

The Colombian Navy continues to conduct sustained operations against transnational drug trafficking to prevent Colombian waters from being used as corridors for the transport of illicit substances. It also encourages citizens to report any suspicious activity through the 24-hour hotlines 146 and 147.
