Ingenieros Militares avanzan en las labores de protección y evacuación, tras emergencia invernal en varias zonas del país.

Más de 100 soldados rescatistas hacen parte del despliegue humano y técnico que hace presencia en los departamentos de Córdoba, Santander y Magdalena.

11 February 2026 08:11 AMEn medio de una de las temporadas de lluvias más complejas que ha vivido el país en los últimos años, los Ingenieros Militares del Ejército Nacional han adelantado durante varios días una operación integral orientada a proteger y salvaguardar la vida de miles de colombianos.

En el departamento de Córdoba, en los municipios de Valencia, San Pelayo y Montería, se han desarrollado operaciones ininterrumpidas durante los últimos 5 días, las cuales han combinado esfuerzo físico, conocimiento técnico y vocación humanitaria. Allí, se ha logrado la evacuación de 1036 personas, de las cuales 909 son adultos y 127 son menores de edad. Así mismo, más de 380 animales, entre domésticos y de granja, han sido evacuados. 

Como parte de las acciones de mitigación, se construyó además un muro de contención en el municipio de San Pelayo, obra que hoy protege directamente la vida de 600 personas. De manera paralela, se han entregado 6 toneladas de ayudas humanitarias, aliviando de forma inmediata las necesidades básicas de las comunidades afectadas.

Por otra parte, en Santander, la labor de los Ingenieros Militares se concentró en la represa de Piedras Negras, una fuente estratégica de agua para la región; allí se han adelantado trabajos de limpieza, descontaminación y mitigación del riesgo, logrando proteger el abastecimiento hídrico de 46.000 personas.

De igual forma, en el municipio de Lebrija, corregimiento de Vanegas, se adelantaron complejas labores de búsqueda y rescate, y se brindaron primeros auxilios a 8 adultos y 2 menores, efectuando la evacuación aerotransportada de 4 adultos y 3 menores. En esta zona se han entregado 3 toneladas de ayuda humanitaria y se removieron 22 metros cúbicos de lodos y escombros.

Adicionalmente, y en este esfuerzo conjunto por apoyar a las comunidades más vulnerables, el Ejército Nacional de Colombia, en articulación con el Banco de Alimentos, realizó el envío de ayudas humanitarias a los departamentos de Córdoba y La Guajira.

En total, fueron distribuidas cerca de 20 toneladas de asistencia humanitaria, representadas en más de 1000 mercados, así como colchones, frutas y verduras, destinados a familias afectadas por situaciones de vulnerabilidad por la ola invernal en estas regiones del país.

Este balance operacional es reflejo de un esfuerzo que va más allá de cifras. Detrás de cada evacuación, cada muro levantado y cada kilo de ayuda entregada hay soldados que entienden su misión como un servicio al país y a su gente.
El Ejército Nacional, a través de sus Ingenieros Militares, ratifica su compromiso inquebrantable con el pueblo colombiano, trabajando sin descanso para proteger la vida, reducir el riesgo y devolver la esperanza en medio de la adversidad.

In the midst of one of the most complex rainy seasons the country has experienced in recent years, the Military Engineers of the National Army have carried out a comprehensive operation for several days aimed at protecting and safeguarding the lives of thousands of Colombians.

In the department of Córdoba, in the municipalities of Valencia, San Pelayo, and Montería, uninterrupted operations have been underway for the past five days, combining physical effort, technical expertise, and humanitarian commitment. There, 1,036 people have been evacuated, 909 of whom are adults and 127 are minors. Likewise, more than 380 animals, both domestic and farm animals, have been evacuated.

As part of the mitigation efforts, a retaining wall was also built in the municipality of San Pelayo, a structure that now directly protects the lives of 600 people. Simultaneously, 6 tons of humanitarian aid have been delivered, immediately alleviating the basic needs of the affected communities.

Furthermore, in Santander, the work of the Military Engineers focused on the Piedras Negras dam, a strategic water source for the region; there, cleaning, decontamination, and risk mitigation work has been carried out, successfully protecting the water supply for 46,000 people.

Similarly, in the municipality of Lebrija, in the township of Vanegas, complex search and rescue operations were carried out, and first aid was provided to 8 adults and 2 children. Four adults and 3 children were airlifted to safety. In this area, 3 tons of humanitarian aid have been delivered, and 22 cubic meters of mud and debris have been removed.

Additionally, as part of this joint effort to support the most vulnerable communities, the Colombian National Army, in conjunction with the Food Bank, sent humanitarian aid to the departments of Córdoba and La Guajira.

In total, nearly 20 tons of humanitarian assistance were distributed, including more than 1,000 food baskets, as well as mattresses, fruits, and vegetables, to families affected by the hardships caused by the winter storms in these regions of the country.

This operational report reflects an effort that goes far beyond mere numbers. Behind every evacuation, every wall built, and every kilogram of aid delivered are soldiers who understand their mission as a service to the country and its people.
