Entre 1922 y 1926, tres incendios consumieron casi por completo la capital de Caldas, por esta razón en Pereira, segundo municipio en importancia de Caldas, para ese entonces, se dieron a la tarea de conseguir el primer carro de bomberos que llegó en 1927.

Este sería el inicio del Cuerpo Oficial de Bomberos de Pereira.

el el 27 de febrero  esta Institución celebró 97 años de una Institución Moderna y cualificada, que día a día va por más espacios y tecnificación, fue una celebración de camaradería y puertas más abiertas a la comunidad y medios de comunicación.
