Ejército Nacional ubicó y destruyó un cilindro con explosivos en zona rural de Rioblanco, Tolima.

Mas de 25.000 habitantes del municipio de Rioblanco hoy pueden movilizarse tranquilamente hacia el corregimiento de Puerto Saldaña.

En las últimas horas, gracias a la pericia del binomio canino de los soldados del Batallón de Infantería N.º 17 General Domingo Caicedo, de la Sexta Brigada del Ejército Nacional, en la vía que comunica al municipio de Rioblanco con el corregimiento de Puerto Saldaña, ubicaron un cilindro de gas de 60 libras con explosivos, perteneciente al GAO-r Frente Ismael Ruiz.

Esta acción militar se llevó a cabo en coordinación con la Unidad Antiexplosivos y Antiterrorismo de la Policía Nacional, bajo el direccionamiento de la Fiscalía Especializada 164 Contra las Organizaciones Criminales y la Fuerza Aeroespacial.

Tras una verificación articulada entre el grupo EXDE y técnicos de explosivos, el cilindro de gas con medios de iniciación de cable mando y aproximadamente 250 gramos de pentolita fue destruido de forma controlada.Según información, este artefacto estaba listo para ser activado al paso de los soldados que realizan registro y control sobre el área.

Desde la Sexta Brigada se invita a los habitantes a denunciar ante las autoridades competentes e informar a las tropas del Ejército Nacional, a través de la línea 107, estas acciones que no solo afectan a los soldados, sino que sin distinción alguna afectan e infringen DIH, como también a la población civil.Esta acción que pretendía generar zozobra en el sur del Tolima es atribuida a alias Chapolo, cabecilla de este grupo armado organizado residual y por quien se ofrece una recompensa de hasta 200 millones de pesos.

In recent hours, thanks to the expertise of the canine unit of soldiers from the 17th Infantry Battalion «General Domingo Caicedo,» of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army, a 60-pound gas cylinder containing explosives was located on the road connecting the municipality of Rioblanco with the village of Puerto Saldaña. The cylinder belonged to the GAO-r Ismael Ruiz Front.

According to reports, this device was ready to be activated as soldiers conducting patrols and checks in the area passed by.

The Sixth Brigade urges residents to report these actions to the appropriate authorities and inform the National Army troops via the 107 hotline. These actions not only affect soldiers but also, without exception, violate International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and endanger the civilian population. This action, intended to sow fear in southern Tolima, is attributed to alias «Chapolo,» leader of this residual organized armed group, for whom a reward of up to 200 million pesos is being offered.
