El gobernador del Quindío, Juan Manuel Galvis Bedoya, anunció este miércoles un paquete de inversiones de más de 1.300 millones de pesos destinadas a fortalecer la infraestructura sanitaria del departamento. El anuncio fue realizado en compañía del ministro de Salud, Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo Martínez, y la gerente del Hospital San Juan de Dios, Diana Carolina Castaño Londoño. Estas acciones buscan garantizar la calidad del servicio de salud para los quindianos y representan un hito importante en la modernización de los centros hospitalarios de la región.

Galvis Bedoya calificó estas medidas como «trascendentales y de vital importancia» para la población. El mandatario expresó su gratitud al ministro Jaramillo Martínez por los aportes que permitirán ejecutar acciones concretas en beneficio de la salud pública departamental. Destacó que los recursos ya han sido oficializados para diferentes instituciones de la región, consolidando un compromiso integral con el bienestar de los quindianos.

Entre las inversiones aprobadas se encuentran recursos destinados al Centro de Atención Prioritaria en Salud (CAPS) de Barcelona y fondos específicos para el área de Urgencias del Hospital La Misericordia de Calarcá. Estas asignaciones responden a necesidades identificadas en la red hospitalaria y buscan mejorar la capacidad de respuesta ante emergencias médicas en diferentes zonas del Quindío.

El Hospital San Juan de Dios, principal centro hospitalario del departamento, será beneficiario de inversiones significativas. Con la gestión coordinada de la Junta Directiva y la gerencia de Diana Carolina Castaño Londoño, se adquirirán dos ambulancias medicalizadas y una unidad móvil especializada para el banco de sangre. Estas adiciones fortalecerán la capacidad de traslado de pacientes y garantizarán una mejor disponibilidad de hemoderivados en situaciones críticas.

Adicionalmente, el gobernador destacó la innovación y acondicionamiento de la unidad pediátrica del Hospital San Juan de Dios, reflejando el compromiso con la atención especializada de la población infantil. Estas mejoras incluyen modernización de equipos, adecuación de espacios y optimización de procesos asistenciales que impactarán directamente en la calidad de vida de los niños quindianos y sus familias.

San Juan de Dios Hospital, the department’s primary healthcare facility, will benefit from significant investments. Through coordinated efforts by the Board of Directors and management led by Diana Carolina Castaño Londoño, two medicalized ambulances and a specialized mobile unit for the blood bank will be acquired. These additions will strengthen patient transfer capacity and ensure better availability of blood products in critical situations.

Additionally, the governor highlighted the innovation and renovation of the pediatric unit at San Juan de Dios Hospital, reflecting the commitment to specialized care for the child population. These improvements include equipment modernization, space adaptation, and optimization of care processes that will directly impact the quality of life for children in Quindío and their families.
