Ejército Nacional despliega en el Eje Cafetero la campaña «Viaje Seguro, su Ejército está en la vía» durante Semana Santa.

En el marco de la temporada de Semana Santa, la Octava Brigada del Ejército Nacional adelanta la campaña «Viaje Seguro, su Ejército está en la vía», con el propósito de acompañar, proteger y brindar seguridad a propios y turistas que se movilizan por los departamentos de Caldas, Quindío y Risaralda.

A través de puestos de control, patrullajes permanentes y presencia estratégica sobre los principales corredores viales, más de 200 soldados se encuentran desplegados en 12 puestos de control a lo largo y ancho del Eje Cafetero, fortaleciendo las condiciones de seguridad para quienes visitan esta región, reconocida por sus paisajes culturales, parques naturales, arquitectura tradicional y la calidez de su gente. Municipios como Salento, Filandia, Manizales, Pereira y Armenia se convierten en destinos clave para el turismo durante esta temporada.

De igual manera, cerca de 3000 soldados permanecen desplegados en las áreas rurales y zonas de operaciones, adelantando labores de control territorial y velando por la seguridad de propios y visitantes, garantizando así un entorno seguro en toda la región.

Asimismo, el Eje Cafetero se destaca por su turismo religioso, especialmente en esta época, con celebraciones litúrgicas, procesiones y actividades de fe que congregan a miles de fieles en iglesias y municipios emblemáticos, promoviendo la tradición, la cultura y la espiritualidad de la región. En este sentido, los hombres y mujeres que integran la Octava Brigada también participan activamente en las celebraciones propias de la Semana Santa, acompañando las procesiones y actos litúrgicos, demostrando su devoción y fe.

De igual forma, el Batallón de Ingenieros de Combate n.°8 mantiene activas sus capacidades diferenciales para la atención de emergencias, especialmente ante la actual temporada de lluvias. Sus unidades están preparadas para brindar atención primaria en desastres, remoción de escombros, adecuación de vías y apoyo a las comunidades que puedan verse afectadas por deslizamientos o inundaciones.

Este trabajo se desarrolla de manera articulada con la institucionalidad, en coordinación con las Secretarías del Interior, las Secretarías de Turismo y la Policía Nacional, sumando capacidades para garantizar la seguridad, la movilidad y el bienestar de todos los turistas que visitan la región durante esta temporada.

Por su parte, el Gaula Militar Eje Cafetero continúa desarrollando acciones de prevención y acompañamiento a la ciudadanía y turistas frente a delitos como la extorsión y el secuestro. Se invita a la comunidad a denunciar cualquier situación sospechosa a través de la línea gratuita nacional 147 contra la extorsión y el secuestro, así como la línea 107 contra el terrorismo.

El Ejército Nacional reafirma su compromiso de trabajar de manera conjunta para garantizar una Semana Santa segura, en la que los viajeros puedan disfrutar con tranquilidad de cada destino.

National Army deploys the «Safe Travel, Your Army is on the Road» campaign in the Coffee Region during Holy Week.

During the Holy Week season, the Eighth Brigade of the National Army is carrying out the «Safe Travel, Your Army is on the Road» campaign to accompany, protect, and provide security to residents and tourists traveling through the departments of Caldas, Quindío, and Risaralda.

Through checkpoints, permanent patrols, and a strategic presence along the main roads, more than 200 soldiers are deployed at 12 checkpoints throughout the Coffee Region, strengthening security for those visiting this area, renowned for its cultural landscapes, natural parks, traditional architecture, and the warmth of its people. Municipalities such as Salento, Filandia, Manizales, Pereira, and Armenia become key tourist destinations during this season.

Similarly, nearly 3,000 soldiers remain deployed in rural areas and operational zones, carrying out territorial control and ensuring the safety of residents and visitors, thus guaranteeing a secure environment throughout the region.

The Coffee Region is also known for its religious tourism, especially during this time of year, with liturgical celebrations, processions, and faith-based activities that draw thousands of worshippers to churches and emblematic towns, promoting the region’s traditions, culture, and spirituality. In this regard, the men and women of the Eighth Brigade also actively participate in Holy Week celebrations, accompanying processions and liturgical acts, demonstrating their devotion and faith.

Likewise, the 8th Combat Engineer Battalion maintains its specialized capabilities for emergency response, particularly in light of the current rainy season. Their units are prepared to provide first aid in disasters, debris removal, road repairs, and support to communities that may be affected by landslides or floods.

This work is carried out in close collaboration with government institutions, in coordination with the Ministries of the Interior and Tourism, and the National Police, combining resources to guarantee the safety, mobility, and well-being of all tourists visiting the region during this season.

Meanwhile, the Military Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Group (GAULA) of the Coffee Region continues to carry out prevention and support activities for citizens and tourists regarding crimes such as extortion and kidnapping. The community is encouraged to report any suspicious activity through the national toll-free hotline 147 against extortion and kidnapping, as well as the hotline 107 against terrorism.

The National Army reaffirms its commitment to working together to ensure a safe Holy Week, in which travelers can enjoy each destination with peace of mind.
