Alias Tatareto tendría una trayectoria criminal de más de 10 años dentro de esta estructura y sería el segundo cabecilla de la comisión armada bajo el mando de alias Primo Gay. Sería el responsable de los desplazamientos ocurridos en el municipio de Briceño.

La contundencia operacional de las tropas del Batallón de Artillería de Campaña N.º 4 de la Cuarta Brigada, en coordinación con la Policía Nacional, permitió la captura en flagrancia de dos presuntos integrantes del grupo armado organizado residual E36, en el corregimiento Travesías, del municipio de Briceño, norte de Antioquia.

Entre los capturados se encuentra alias Tatareto, presunto segundo cabecilla y mano derecha de alias Primo Gay, uno de los principales cabecillas de esta estructura criminal en el departamento. De acuerdo con información de inteligencia militar, alias Tatareto tendría más de una década de trayectoria delictiva, participando en acciones de intimidación, extorsión y control territorial en varios municipios del norte antioqueño.

El otro capturado, conocido como alias el Gordo, contaría con cerca de seis años dentro de la organización ilegal y sería el hombre de confianza de alias Tatareto.

Ambos estarían presuntamente vinculados con los recientes desplazamientos ocurridos en el municipio de Briceño, donde también fue asesinado un campesino que había regresado a su finca para alimentar su ganado.

Durante la operación, las tropas lograron rescatar a un habitante de la región que habría sido secuestrado por el grupo ilegal. Gracias a la reacción oportuna y decidida de los soldados, el ciudadano fue liberado y puesto a salvo en su hogar.

Las labores de inteligencia también permitieron establecer que los capturados estarían relacionados con amenazas a trabajadores del proyecto hidroeléctrico Hidroituango, a quienes exigían pagos extorsivos. Asimismo, serían los presuntos responsables de la instalación de artefactos explosivos improvisados sobre el eje vial que comunica Travesías con El Hoyo, con el propósito de atacar unidades militares que cumplían labores de seguridad en la zona.

De igual manera, habrían participado en el pasado atentado con artefactos explosivos contra la infraestructura del proyecto hidroeléctrico de Chorreritas, ubicado en el municipio de San Andrés de Cuerquia, por el no pago de extorsiones.

Durante la ofensiva se incautó un arma de fuego y varias municiones, que, junto con los capturados, fueron puestos a disposición de la Fiscalía General de la Nación para los actos urgentes y el proceso de judicialización correspondiente.

Con este resultado se afecta de manera significativa la estructura criminal del grupo armado organizado residual (GAO-r) Estructura 36, al debilitar su capacidad logística, armada y explosivista, ya que alias Tatareto contaba con la preparación y experiencia para ejecutar este tipo de acciones. De igual manera, se reduce su capacidad financiera, al evitar los cobros extorsivos que vienen afectando a ganaderos, comerciantes y mineros de la región.

Esta acción militar contribuye a prevenir nuevos homicidios selectivos y a reducir la intimidación que este grupo pretende imponer sobre la población civil, fortaleciendo así la seguridad de las comunidades del norte antioqueño.

El Ejército Nacional, con el apoyo de la Policía Nacional, reafirma su compromiso con la seguridad y la tranquilidad del norte de Antioquia, la protección de los habitantes y la neutralización de los grupos armados ilegales que buscan alterar el orden y la paz en esta región del país.

The operational effectiveness of the troops of the 4th Field Artillery Battalion of the Fourth Brigade, in coordination with the National Police, led to the capture in flagrante delicto of two alleged members of the residual organized armed group E36, in the village of Travesías, in the municipality of Briceño, northern Antioquia.

Among those captured is alias Tatareto, the alleged second-in-command and right-hand man of alias Primo Gay, one of the main leaders of this criminal organization in the department. According to military intelligence, alias Tatareto has over a decade of criminal activity, participating in intimidation, extortion, and territorial control in several municipalities in northern Antioquia.

The other captured individual, known as alias El Gordo, has reportedly been with the illegal organization for about six years and is believed to be Tatareto’s trusted confidant.

Both are allegedly linked to the recent displacements in the municipality of Briceño, where a farmer who had returned to his farm to feed his livestock was also murdered.

During the operation, troops rescued a local resident who had been kidnapped by the illegal group. Thanks to the soldiers’ swift and decisive response, the man was freed and returned safely to his home.

Intelligence work also established that those captured were linked to threats against workers at the Hidroituango hydroelectric project, from whom they demanded extortion payments. They are also believed to be responsible for planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on the road connecting Travesías and El Hoyo, with the intention of attacking military units carrying out security operations in the area.

Likewise, they are believed to have participated in the previous attack with explosive devices against the infrastructure of the Chorreritas hydroelectric project, located in the municipality of San Andrés de Cuerquia, due to the non-payment of extortion money.

During the operation, a firearm and several rounds of ammunition were seized. These, along with the detainees, were turned over to the Attorney General’s Office for urgent legal proceedings and the corresponding judicial process.

This operation significantly impacts the criminal structure of the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) Structure 36, weakening its logistical, armed, and explosive capabilities, as alias Tatareto possessed the training and experience to carry out this type of action. Likewise, it reduces its financial capacity by preventing the extortion payments that have been affecting ranchers, merchants, and miners in the region.

This military action contributes to preventing further targeted killings and reducing the intimidation that this group seeks to impose on the civilian population, thus strengthening the security of communities in northern Antioquia.

The National Army, with the support of the National Police, reaffirms its commitment to the security and tranquility of northern Antioquia, the protection of its inhabitants, and the neutralization of illegal armed groups that seek to disrupt order and peace in this region of the country.
