Ejército Nacional captura a cabecilla de la comisión de finanzas y tercer cabecilla del GAO-r Frente Gerónimo Galeano, alias Libardo o Alexander.

Estos sujetos estarían involucrados en el hostigamiento a la estación de policía del corregimiento El Limón, municipio de Chaparral, ocurrido el pasado 7 de diciembre de 2025, durante la noche de velitas.

Un resultado operacional contundente lograron los soldados del Gaula Militar Tolima, orgánico de la Sexta Brigada del Ejército Nacional, en articulación con la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana, y en coordinación con la Sijín de la Policía Nacional y el CTI de la Fiscalía General de la Nación, quienes llegaron hasta la vereda Legía Alta, del municipio de San Antonio, Tolima, donde adelantaron diligencias de allanamiento y registro, que llevaron a la captura de tres integrantes del GAO-r Frente Gerónimo Galeano, del bloque central Isaias Pardo, entre ellos alias Libardo o Alexander, identificado como cabecilla de la comisión de finanzas y tercer cabecilla de esta estructura criminal.

De acuerdo con las investigaciones preliminares, estos sujetos estarían vinculados con el hostigamiento armado realizado contra la estación de policía del corregimiento El Limón, municipio de Chaparral, y además venían adelantando actividades extorsivas sistemáticas contra diferentes gremios productivos, entre ellos caficultores, compradores de café, transportadores, comerciantes y finqueros, logrando recaudar de manera ilícita cerca de 400 millones de pesos.

Las víctimas, procedentes de los municipios de Chaparral, San Antonio, Roncesvalles y Rioblanco, formularon las respectivas denuncias ante las autoridades, lo que permitió orientar las labores investigativas y operacionales.

Así mismo, esta estructura realizaba intimidación mediante proselitismo armado, a través de la instalación de carteles, vallas, grafitis y reuniones forzadas con la comunidad, con el fin de imponer normas de conducta, constreñir a la población e impedir la acción de la Fuerza Pública, incluso invadiendo predios rurales en contra de la voluntad de sus propietarios. Estos hechos se venían registrando desde hace aproximadamente cinco meses, en articulación con alias Cortico y alias Risas, integrantes del GAO-r Frente Ismael Ruiz, quienes ya habían sido capturados en meses anteriores.

Durante el procedimiento fueron incautadas armas, municiones, proveedores, panfletos extorsivos del Frente Gerónimo Galeano, un computador portátil, teléfonos celulares y una agenda, elementos utilizados para la planeación, coordinación y ejecución de las actividades criminales.

​​​​​​​Los tres capturados fueron dejados a disposición de la Fiscalía 263 de la Dirección Especializada contra las Organizaciones Criminales (Gaula), por los delitos de concierto para delinquir con fines de extorsión, en concurso con extorsión agravada.

Este resultado representa una afectación directa a las economías ilícitas de esta estructura criminal, debilitando su capacidad de intimidación y financiación, y contribuye al restablecimiento de la seguridad, la tranquilidad y la confianza institucional en el sur del Tolima, como parte del esfuerzo permanente del Ejército Nacional y las demás instituciones de la Fuerza Pública por fortalecer la legitimidad del Estado y proteger a la población civil.

The National Army captures the head of the finance commission and third-in-command of the GAO-r Gerónimo Galeano Front, alias Libardo or Alexander.

These individuals are allegedly involved in the attack on the police station in the village of El Limón, municipality of Chaparral, which occurred on December 7, 2025, during the Night of the Candles.

A decisive operational result was achieved by soldiers of the Tolima Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Group), part of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army, in conjunction with the Colombian Aerospace Force, and in coordination with the Sijín (Criminal Investigation Division) of the National Police and the CTI (Technical Investigation Corps) of the Attorney General’s Office. They reached the village of Legía Alta, in the municipality of San Antonio, Tolima, where they carried out search and seizure operations, leading to the capture of three members of the GAO-r (Residual Organized Armed Group) Gerónimo Galeano Front, of the Isaias Pardo Central Bloc. Among them was alias Libardo or Alexander, identified as the head of the finance commission and third-in-command of this criminal organization.

According to preliminary investigations, these individuals are linked to the armed attack against the police station in the village of El Limón, in the municipality of Chaparral. They had also been carrying out systematic extortion against various productive sectors, including coffee growers, coffee buyers, transporters, merchants, and farmers, illegally collecting approximately 400 million pesos.

The victims, from the municipalities of Chaparral, San Antonio, Roncesvalles, and Rioblanco, filed reports with the authorities, which guided the investigative and operational efforts.

This group also used armed proselytizing, employing methods such as posting signs, billboards, graffiti, and forcibly organizing meetings with the community. Their aim was to impose rules of conduct, coerce the population, and obstruct law enforcement, even invading rural properties against the will of their owners. These events had been occurring for approximately five months, in conjunction with aliases Cortico and Risas, members of the GAO-r Ismael Ruiz Front, who had already been captured in previous months.

During the operation, weapons, ammunition, magazines, extortion pamphlets from the Gerónimo Galeano Front, a laptop computer, cell phones, and a notebook were seized. These items were used for the planning, coordination, and execution of the criminal activities.

The three individuals arrested were turned over to the 263rd Prosecutor’s Office of the Specialized Directorate against Criminal Organizations (Gaula) on charges of conspiracy to commit extortion, in conjunction with aggravated extortion.

This result represents a direct impact on the illicit economies of this criminal structure, weakening its capacity for intimidation and financing, and contributes to the restoration of security, tranquility and institutional trust in southern Tolima, as part of the permanent effort of the National Army and the other institutions of the Public Force to strengthen the legitimacy of the State and protect the civilian population.
