Ejército Nacional capturó a tres presuntos integrantes del grupo armado Cartel del Clan del Golfo en Cesar.

Los capturados centraban su accionar delictivo en extorsionar a comerciantes y ganaderos de la región.

04 March 2026 06:26 AMEn cumplimiento del Plan de Campaña Ayacucho Plus, tropas del Gaula Militar Cesar, orgánicas de la Décima Brigada, en coordinación con la Dirección de Investigación Criminal, el Comando Aéreo de Combate N.° 3 y la Comisión Investigativa Contra el Crimen Organizado, lograron la captura de tres presuntos integrantes del grupo armado organizado Clan del Golfo, en la vereda Puente Quemado, municipio de El Copey, departamento del Cesar.

Los capturados pertenecerían a la Subestructura Ferney Antonio López Polo de este grupo armado, y estarían vinculados a los delitos de extorsión, concierto para delinquir y porte ilegal de armas de fuego y municiones. Fueron puestos a disposición de la autoridad competente para el desarrollo de los respectivos procesos judiciales.

Entre los detenidos se encuentra alias Fernando, señalado como cabecilla financiero en la subregión noroccidental del Cesar, presuntamente encargado de ejercer control criminal mediante amenazas e intimidaciones a comerciantes y ganaderos. También fue capturado alias Vaquero, presunto jefe de sicarios, acusado de coordinar homicidios selectivos y de participar en el secuestro de dos militares en 2025. Finalmente, alias Villa sería el responsable de labores de inteligencia criminal y selección de víctimas para extorsión, además de estar investigado por hurto y tráfico de estupefacientes.

Durante la operación fueron incautadas 3 armas de fuego, un proveedor, 26 cartuchos de diferentes calibres y documentos con información financiera y de inteligencia.

Este resultado operacional contribuye a debilitar el componente armado, las economías ilícitas y los corredores logísticos del Cartel del Clan del Golfo en el norte del país, afectando sus redes de apoyo al terrorismo y sus planes de expansión territorial en el departamento del Cesar.

La Décima Brigada del Ejército Nacional reafirma su compromiso con la seguridad y el bienestar de los colombianos, mediante operaciones militares contundentes que contrarresten las amenazas a la paz y la legalidad.

The Colombian National Army captured three alleged members of the Clan del Golfo armed group in Cesar.

The detainees focused their criminal activities on extorting merchants and ranchers in the region.

In compliance with the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, troops from the Cesar Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Group), part of the Tenth Brigade, in coordination with the Criminal Investigation Directorate, Air Combat Command No. 3, and the Organized Crime Investigation Commission, captured three alleged members of the Clan del Golfo organized armed group in the village of Puente Quemado, municipality of El Copey, Cesar department.

The detainees allegedly belong to the Ferney Antonio López Polo Substructure of this armed group and are linked to the crimes of extortion, conspiracy to commit a crime, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. They were turned over to the appropriate authorities for the respective legal proceedings.

Among those arrested is alias Fernando, identified as the financial head in the northwestern subregion of Cesar, allegedly responsible for exercising criminal control through threats and intimidation against merchants and ranchers. Also captured was alias Vaquero, the alleged head of hitmen, accused of coordinating targeted killings and participating in the kidnapping of two soldiers in 2025. Finally, alias Villa is believed to be responsible for criminal intelligence and selecting victims for extortion, and is also under investigation for theft and drug trafficking.

During the operation, three firearms, a magazine, 26 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, and documents containing financial and intelligence information were seized.

This operational result contributes to weakening the armed wing, illicit economies, and logistical corridors of the Clan del Golfo Cartel in northern Colombia, impacting its terrorist support networks and its plans for territorial expansion in the department of Cesar.
