Ejército Nacional asestó contundente golpe al GAO ELN en Aguachica, Cesar.

En el marco de operaciones militares sostenidas para preservar la seguridad, tropas de la Quinta Brigada lograron la captura en flagrancia de un presunto integrante del grupo armado organizado (GAO) en zona urbana del municipio de Aguachica, Cesar, quien al parecer participó en la acción terrorista contra la base militar el pasado 18 de diciembre.

La operación militar desarrollada en el marco del Plan Operacional Ayacucho Plus, tropas del batallón de Infantería No. 14 Capitán Antonio Ricaurte, y en coordinación con la Policía Nacional, mediante diligencias de registro y allanamiento se logró la captura en flagrancia de un individuo, conocido con el alias de Ismael, quien deberá responder ante las autoridades judiciales por el delito de fabricación, tráfico, porte de armas y municiones.

De acuerdo con información de inteligencia, este sujeto haría parte de una red de apoyo a estructuras del GAO ELN que delinquen en esta región del país. Durante el procedimiento fueron incautados 85 cartuchos calibre 5.56 mm, una granada, banderas alusivas al GAO ELN y teléfonos celulares. 

Alias Ismael estaría vinculado con el ataque terrorista registrado el pasado 18 de diciembre de 2025 contra la unidad militar en zona rural del municipio de Aguachica, Cesar.

El capturado y el material incautado fueron puestos a disposición de la autoridad competente para continuar con el proceso judicial correspondiente. 

El Ejército Nacional ratifica su compromiso firme e inquebrantable con la seguridad, la defensa de la vida y la estabilidad del territorio, y reafirma que continuará desarrollando operaciones militares contundentes, sostenidas y articuladas, orientadas a neutralizar el accionar de los grupos armados organizados en el sur del departamento del Cesar.

According to intelligence reports, this individual is allegedly part of a support network for ELN structures operating in this region of the country. During the operation, 85 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, a grenade, ELN flags, and cell phones were seized.
