Ejército Nacional y Policía impactan la minería ilegal en el Chocó con la intervención de 38 yacimientos mineros.

En lo corrido del mes de enero, la Décima Quinta Brigada ha intervenido 74 unidades de producción minera (UPM), propinando un contundente golpe a la minería ilegal en el departamento.

En desarrollo de operaciones militares adelantadas en la vereda Guayabal, del municipio de Quibdó, tropas de esta unidad desplegaron sus capacidades operativas, logrando la intervención de 38 UPM.

Esta acción afectó de manera directa las economías ilícitas y criminales del grupo armado organizado Clan del Golfo, con la inutilización de 5 dragas tipo buzo, 13 motores y 20 motobombas, utilizadas para la explotación ilícita de yacimientos mineros en la región.

De manera coordinada con la Policía Nacional, este resultado operacional generó una afectación económica aproximada de 330 millones en maquinaria. Así mismo, se estima que con esta intervención se logró detener la extracción de cerca de 2000 gramos de oro, cuyas ganancias mensuales alcanzarían los 980 millones.

Con este resultado, ya son 74 las unidades de producción minera intervenidas por el Ejército Nacional en el marco de las tareas desarrolladas por la Décima Quinta Brigada, lo que evidencia una acción sostenida contra la explotación ilícita, las finanzas criminales y las economías ilegales que impactan el territorio chocoano.

De igual manera, en operaciones adelantadas sobre el río Atrato, a la altura del municipio de Quibdó, soldados del Batallón de Infantería de Primera Línea N.° 12 (BIPLI 12) lograron la incautación de 17,5 toneladas de cemento, las cuales eran transportadas sin cumplir la normatividad vigente ni portar la documentación exigida.

La Décima Quinta Brigada comprometida con el territorio chocoano continuará adelantando operaciones ofensivas para seguir debilitando las estructuras ilegales que atentan contra la seguridad y el bienestar de la población.

During military operations carried out in the village of Guayabal, in the municipality of Quibdó, troops from this unit deployed their operational capabilities, successfully intervening in 38 UPMs.

This operation directly impacted the illicit and criminal economies of the Clan del Golfo organized armed group, disabling five diving dredges, 13 motors, and 20 water pumps used for the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the region.

In coordination with the National Police, this operation resulted in an estimated economic impact of 330 million pesos in machinery. It is also estimated that this intervention halted the extraction of approximately 2,000 grams of gold, whose monthly profits would have reached 980 million pesos.

With this result, the National Army has now intervened in 74 mining production units as part of the operations carried out by the Fifteenth Brigade, demonstrating a sustained effort against illicit exploitation, criminal finances, and illegal economies that affect the Chocó region.

Similarly, in operations carried out on the Atrato River, near the municipality of Quibdó, soldiers from the 12th First Line Infantry Battalion (BIPLI 12) seized 17.5 tons of cement being transported without complying with current regulations or carrying the required documentation.

The Fifteenth Brigade, committed to the Chocó region, will continue to conduct offensive operations to further weaken the illegal structures that threaten the security and well-being of the population.
