Espacio aéreo de Venezuela: presidente Petro pidió asamblea inmediata de la OACI.

El presidente Gustavo Petro le pidió a su par de Estados Unidos respetar el orden jurídico internacional.

El posible cierre total del espacio aéreo de Venezuela, anunciado por el presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, fue de nuevo el centro de un mensaje del presidente Gustavo Petro en su cuenta de X.

Esta vez el jefe de Estado colombiano le pidió a la Organización de Aviación Civil Internacional (OACI) reunirse de manera inmediata.

“El cierre del espacio aéreo de Venezuela es completamente ilegal. La OACI debe reunirse de inmediato. El secretario general de la OACI debe convocar de inmediato la Asamblea», escribió en X.

A la vez, el mandatario colombiano le pidió a su par de Estados Unidos respetar el orden jurídico internacional.

“Le solicito al presidente Trump retornar al respeto del orden jurídico internacional, que es el acumulado de la sabiduría de la civilización humana», agregó.

En la misma línea, el presidente Petro advierte que ni Naciones Unidas ni el Senado de Estados Unidos han autorizado una intervención armada en Venezuela.

“El orden internacional debe preservarse y América Latina y el Caribe debe decirlo sin temor. Venezuela necesita más democracia y la democracia es producto solo de sus fuerzas internas y de su pueblo», aseveró.

Cuestionamiento a Trump

La noche del sábado pasado el jefe de Estado colombiano había cuestionado el anuncio de Trump a través de la red social Truth sobre el cierre del espacio aéreo en el país vecino.

“Quiero saber, ¿bajo qué norma de derecho internacional un presidente de un país le puede cerrar el espacio aéreo a otra nación?», se preguntó el mandatario.

A renglón seguido, se respondió: “Le digo al mundo que un espacio aéreo nacional no lo puede cerrar un presidente extranjero, o se acabó el concepto de soberanía nacional y el concepto de derecho internacional».

El presidente Petro ha manifestado que estos mensajes en X no los emite solo como presidente de Colombia, sino también de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (Celac).

“Ninguna compañía aérea debe aceptar órdenes ilegales sobre el espacio aéreo de ningún país», recalcó en su más reciente mensaje en X.

President Gustavo Petro asked his US counterpart to respect the international legal order.

The possible total closure of Venezuelan airspace, announced by US President Donald Trump, was once again the focus of a message from President Gustavo Petro on his Twitter account.

This time, the Colombian head of state asked the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to convene immediately.

“The closure of Venezuelan airspace is completely illegal. ICAO must convene immediately. The ICAO Secretary General must convene the Assembly immediately,” he wrote on Twitter.

At the same time, the Colombian president asked his US counterpart to respect the international legal order.

“I urge President Trump to return to respecting the international legal order, which is the accumulated wisdom of human civilization,” he added.

Along the same lines, President Petro warned that neither the United Nations nor the United States Senate has authorized an armed intervention in Venezuela.

“The international order must be preserved, and Latin America and the Caribbean must say so without fear. Venezuela needs more democracy, and democracy is a product only of its internal forces and its people,” he asserted.

Questioning Trump
Last Saturday night, the Colombian head of state questioned Trump’s announcement on the social media platform Truth regarding the closure of airspace in the neighboring country.

“I want to know, under what rule of international law can a president of one country close the airspace of another nation?” the president asked.

He then answered himself: “I tell the world that a foreign president cannot close national airspace, or the concept of national sovereignty and the concept of international law will be finished.”

President Petro has stated that he is issuing these messages on X not only as President of Colombia, but also as President of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

“No airline should accept illegal orders regarding the airspace of any country,” he emphasized in his most recent message on X.
