Quindío logró el oro y superó lo hecho hace 4 años cuando fue medalla de bronce.

Por primera vez la región logra la medalla de oro en la disciplina y fue después de ganarle a la favorita Boyacá.

El cierre de los XXII Juegos Deportivos Nacionales Eje Cafetero 2023 para el Quindío fue inolvidable, lleno de alegría y orgullo, gracias a que la selección femenina de fútbol de salón obtuvo por primera vez en su historia la medalla de oro.

Y fue de una manera soñada, las cafeteras derrotaron a Boyacá, la base de la selección Colombia que logró el título mundial el año pasado, y que llegaba a la final como la dueña del oro obtenido hace 4 años.

El resultado final fue 2-1 en un encuentro que terminó igualado 1-1 durante los 40 minutos reglamentarios y que se debió ir a alargue.

La goleadora del Quindío, Laura Viviana Tamayo Vásquez, abrió el marcador, pero el empate llegó de parte de Laura Becerra Rojas. Sin embargo, Lina María Caro Campos, a falta de poco más de 2 minutos concretó el tanto de la gloria.

Un oro con sabor a revancha

La medalla de oro confirma que Quindío es una potencia en la disciplina en el ámbito colombiano, luego de su podio consecutivo en Juegos Deportivos Nacionales.

Pero el metal adquirió más importancia porque se tomó como una revancha, primero porque Boyacá hace 4 años fue el encargado de dejar a las cuyabras precisamente sin la final, tras derrotarlas 3-0.

En segundo lugar, el seleccionado que orienta Sebastián Vega Rodríguez es la base de Caciques del Quindío, el quinteto profesional que en 3 años no ha podido alzar el título, a pesar de ser protagonista de primer orden en el torneo nacional.
