Un nuevo hito en la Fuerza Aeroespacial: Primer contingente de mujeres culmina su servicio militar.

Con orgullo la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana, FAC, a través del Comando Aéreo de Transporte Militar, CATAM, llevó a cabo la ceremonia de licenciamiento del primer contingente de soldados mujeres de la Institución, un acontecimiento histórico que marca un antes y un después en el servicio militar en la FAC.

El quinto contingente de Soldados de 2024, estuvo conformado por 28 jóvenes mujeres, quienes iniciaron a prestar el servicio militar el 3 de febrero de 2024 en el Comando Aéreo de Transporte Militar. Tras 12 meses de entrega, disciplina y vocación de servicio, culminaron exitosamente su etapa como Soldados, dejando en alto el nombre de la Institución y demostrando que el compromiso con la patria no tiene distinción de género.

Durante su tiempo de servicio, estas Soldados asumieron con profesionalismo, compromiso y disciplina labores relevantes en los sistemas de Seguridad de CATAM, como la atención y apoyo logístico en vuelos de altos mandos y personalidades, se desempeñaron como Policía Militar e integraron el equipo de control de acceso, desempeñando funciones clave en la verificación, registro y autorización del ingreso de personal, vehículos y visitantes a la Unidad Militar. Actuando siempre con firmeza, responsabilidad y criterio, garantizando la seguridad y el cumplimiento de los procedimientos establecidos.

El licenciamiento de este primer contingente femenino representa un hito sin precedentes para la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana, al convertirse en las primeras mujeres en prestar el servicio militar dentro de la Institución, demostrando el aporte de las nuevas generaciones a la defensa y el desarrollo del país.

La Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana exalta y agradece el invaluable aporte de estas 28 mujeres y sus familias, cuyo ejemplo de valentía, disciplina y amor por Colombia quedará escrito en la historia institucional.

A New Milestone for the Aerospace Force: First Contingent of Women Completes Military Service

The Colombian Aerospace Force (FAC), through the Military Air Transport Command (CATAM), proudly held the graduation ceremony for the first contingent of female soldiers in the institution, a historic event that marks a turning point in military service within the FAC.

The fifth contingent of soldiers in 2024 consisted of 28 young women who began their military service on February 3, 2024, at the Military Air Transport Command. After 12 months of dedication, discipline, and a strong sense of duty, they successfully completed their service, upholding the institution’s reputation and demonstrating that commitment to the nation knows no gender.

During their service, these female soldiers professionally, committedly, and with discipline performed essential tasks within CATAM’s security systems. These included providing logistical support for flights of high-ranking officers and dignitaries, serving as military police, and forming part of the access control team. They played key roles in verifying, registering, and authorizing the entry of personnel, vehicles, and visitors to the military unit. They always acted with firmness, responsibility, and sound judgment, ensuring security and compliance with established procedures.

The discharge of this first female contingent represents an unprecedented milestone for the Colombian Aerospace Force, as they become the first women to serve in the institution, demonstrating the contribution of new generations to the defense and development of the country.

The Colombian Aerospace Force recognizes and expresses its gratitude for the invaluable contribution of these 28 women and their families, whose example of courage, discipline, and love for Colombia will be forever etched in the institution’s history.
