Tras emergencias en el río Negro, rescatadas 10 personas en Guainía.

Unidades de Infantería de Marina de la Armada de Colombia rescataron a 10 personas de comunidades indígenas del Casiquiare, quienes quedaron a la deriva en aguas del río Negro, cercanas a San Felipe, Guainía, cuando la embarcación artesanal en la que se transportaban presentó fallas técnicas en su motor principal.

Tras escuchar el llamado de emergencia proveniente de la embarcación, tripulantes de un Elemento de Operaciones Fluviales, que realizaba labores de patrullaje y control sobre el río, iniciaron la operación de búsqueda y rescate para salvaguardar la vida de estas personas que se transportaban en la ruta Puerto Colombia – San Felipe.

Ya en el sitio de la emergencia, las tropas del Batallón Fluvial de Infantería de Marina No.50, tras verificar el buen estado de salud de los ocupantes de la embarcación, entre los que se encontraban niños y adultos mayores, procedieron a transportarlos y remolcar la motonave hasta el muelle principal de San Felipe, Guainía.

La Armada de Colombia, a través de la Fuerza Naval de la Orinoquía, continuará garantizando, con medios y talento humano, la seguridad integral fluvial en los diferentes afluentes de la región, con el fin de salvaguardar la vida humana en el río y efectuar control permanente en los espacios asignados bajo su responsabilidad.

Colombian Navy Marine Infantry units rescued 10 people from the Casiquiare indigenous communities. They were left adrift in the waters of the Negro River, near San Felipe, Guainía, when the small-boat they were traveling in experienced technical failures in its main engine.

After hearing the emergency call from the boat, crew members of a Riverine Operations Unit, who were patrolling and monitoring the river, began a search and rescue operation to safeguard the lives of these people traveling on the Puerto Colombia-San Felipe route.

Once at the scene of the emergency, troops from the 50th Marine Infantry Riverine Battalion, after verifying the good health of the boat’s occupants, including children and senior citizens, proceeded to transport them and tow the motor vessel to the main dock in San Felipe, Guainía.

The Colombian Navy, through the Orinoquía Naval Force, will continue to guarantee, with resources and human talent, comprehensive river safety in the various tributaries of the region, in order to safeguard human life on the river and carry out permanent monitoring in the areas assigned under its responsibility.
