Tres capturados y 21.000 galones de petróleo crudo recuperados en la vía Barranquilla – Santa Marta

En un operativo de control vial realizado en el corregimiento de Palermo, sobre la vía Barranquilla – Santa Marta, unidades de la Seccional de Tránsito y Transporte de la Policía Nacional capturaron a tres personas que transportaban 21.000 galones de petróleo crudo en tractocamiones, sin la documentación legal requerida.

La intervención se desarrolló tras recibir información de una fuente humana sobre el presunto transporte ilegal de hidrocarburos. Durante la inspección, los uniformados verificaron que los conductores no contaban con los soportes que acreditaran la legal procedencia del crudo.

De acuerdo con la investigación preliminar, se estableció que el hidrocarburo había sido hurtado en el departamento del Cesar.

Los capturados fueron puestos a disposición de la autoridad competente por el delito de apoderamiento de hidrocarburos, sus derivados, biocombustibles o mezclas que los contengan.

“La Policía Nacional reitera su compromiso con la seguridad ciudadana y la protección de los recursos del país”, afirmó el señor teniente coronel Julio Alexander Beltrán Torres, comandante (e) de la Policía Metropolitana de Santa Marta.

In a road control operation carried out in the Palermo district, on the Barranquilla-Santa Marta highway, units from the National Police’s Traffic and Transportation Section arrested three people transporting 21,000 gallons of crude oil in tractor-trailers without the required legal documentation.

The operation was carried out after receiving information from a human source about the alleged illegal transportation of hydrocarbons. During the inspection, officers verified that the drivers did not have the necessary documentation to prove the legal origin of the crude oil.

According to the preliminary investigation, it was determined that the hydrocarbon had been stolen in the department of Cesar.

The captured individuals were brought before the competent authorities for the crime of seizing hydrocarbons, their derivatives, biofuels, or mixtures containing them.

«The National Police reiterates its commitment to citizen security and the protection of the country’s resources,» stated Lieutenant Colonel Julio Alexander Beltrán Torres, acting commander of the Santa Marta Metropolitan Police.
