Martes 28 de octubre 2025 – Día Mundial de la Animación.
Cada momento es una oportunidad para sonreírle a la vida. SONRÍA… SONRÍA… SONRÍA… CON AMOR Y ALEGRÍA, AGRADECIÉNDOLE A DIOS: CADA SEGUNDO DE VIDA. –RUDAFRA.
Desde el año 2003, por iniciativa de la Asociación Internacional de Films de Animación (ASIFA), cada 28 de octubre se celebra el Día Mundial de la Animación. Esta fecha corresponde a la conmemoración de la primera proyección pública de cine animado. Dicho evento fue llevado a cabo en 1892 por el pionero del cine francés, Charles-Émile Reynauden en el Museo Grévin de París (Francia). Lugar donde se proyectaron las Pantomimas Luminosas, programa que incluía las películas: Pauvre pierrot, Clown et seschiens y Un bon bock.
Charles-Émile Reynaud, es pionero del cine francés, inventó y patentó el Teatro Óptico, un sistema sofisticado de lentes y espejos que hicieron posible proyectar en la pantalla las imágenes animadas. Es decir, que sus inventos permitieron una mejor y mayor calidad en el movimiento de las imágenes. También logró que sus proyecciones estuvieran sincronizadas con música, así como darle algunos efectos sonoros. Su trabajo, en pocas palabras, hicieron posible proyectar dibujos animados en una pantalla grande para una numerosa audiencia.
Son muchos los países que se unen a esta celebración, la cual se convierte en un espacio propicio para fortalecer iniciativas culturales en el ámbito de la animación. En las calles, universidades, teatros y cines podemos encontrar una gran variedad de actividades para el disfrute del público: premios de animación, proyección de cortos, conferencias, talleres jornadas de videojuegos, largometrajes de animación, preestrenos de películas animadas, lecturas, cine a cielo abierto y muchas otras más.

Since 2003, at the initiative of the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA), World Animation Day has been celebrated every October 28. This date commemorates the first public screening of an animated film. This event was held in 1892 by the French film pioneer Charles-Émile Reynaud at the Grévin Museum in Paris, France. The program, titled «Luminous Pantomimes,» included the films «Pauvre Pierrot,» «Clown et Seschiens,» and «Un Bon Bock.»

Charles-Émile Reynaud, a pioneer of French cinema, invented and patented the Optical Theater, a sophisticated system of lenses and mirrors that made it possible to project animated images onto a screen. His inventions allowed for better and higher quality image movement. He also synchronized his projections with music and added sound effects. In short, his work made it possible to project animated cartoons on a large screen for a large audience.
Many countries join in this celebration, which becomes a valuable platform for strengthening cultural initiatives in the field of animation. In the streets, universities, theaters, and cinemas, we can find a wide variety of activities for the public to enjoy: animation awards, short film screenings, conferences, workshops, video game events, animated feature films, animated film previews, readings, open-air cinema, and much more.
