Reunión bilateral entre Fuerzas Aéreas de Chile y Colombia fortalece cooperación regional.

En el marco de la cooperación bilateral entre la Fuerza Aérea de Chile FACH y la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana FAC, los días 3 y 4 de septiembre de 2025 en Santiago de Chile, se llevó a cabo la X Reunión Bilateral, un espacio importante para fortalecer los lazos de colaboración entre ambas instituciones, entorno a temas de interés común.

El encuentro tuvo como objetivo avanzar en la construcción de un programa de entrenamiento conjunto en áreas estratégicas como educación y entrenamiento, operaciones, asuntos espaciales, temas antárticos y logística, con el propósito de reforzar hojas de ruta y lineamientos que contribuyan a la formación de las futuras generaciones de pilotos y profesionales aeroespaciales. Además, la reunión buscó promover sinergias que impulsen la cooperación, así como, el intercambio de experiencias, lecciones aprendidas y conocimientos técnicos entre las dos fuerzas aéreas.

La actividad fue presidida por el General de Brigada Aérea (A) César Pineda Troncoso, Jefe del Estado Mayor General Suplente de la FACH, y el Mayor General Carlos Fernando Silva Rueda, Segundo Comandante y Jefe de Estado Mayor de la FAC. Durante la agenda de actividades, se presentaron las capacidades, áreas prioritarias y enfoques de trabajo institucional de ambas instituciones, en un ambiente de diálogo abierto y constructivo.

Entre los temas abordados, la Fuerza Aérea de Chile destacó sobre los avances en los programas educativos para Oficiales, especialmente en el área de ingeniería aeroespacial y otras disciplinas aeronáuticas, así como los procesos de formación dirigidos al cuerpo de Suboficiales.

También, se trataron aspectos relevantes sobre el proceso que ha tenido el Sistema Nacional Satelital-SNsat, los retos y desafíos que incluye el desarrollo de capacidades como sistemas geoespaciales, ensamblaje de microsatélites y consolidación de constelaciones satelitales desde una visión integradora que busca acercar la tecnología a distintos sectores de la sociedad; teniendo en cuenta aspectos: doctrinales, de gobernanza, investigación científica e innovación. Así mismo, expuso sobre el proyecto de la aeronave Pillan II, orientado a la formación para entrenamiento de pilotos.

Por su parte, la FAC presentó su estructura organizacional, funciones y capacidades operacionales, destacando los resultados de la Operación ZEUS, una estrategia decisiva en la lucha contra el crimen organizado transnacional. Esta operación ha logrado impactar no solo el narcotráfico, sino también a estructuras ilegales dedicadas a la explotación ilícita de oro y otros recursos naturales. Igualmente, subrayó los efectos positivos de esta estrategia en la seguridad regional y la apertura de nuevos espacios de cooperación con países de la región para enfrentar, de manera conjunta y decidida, estos fenómenos.

Al cierre del encuentro, ambas fuerzas aéreas suscribieron un plan de cooperación que se desarrollará durante los próximos dos años, con el objetivo de promover e integrar oportunidades y áreas de interés común identificadas.

Finalmente, este acuerdo reafirma el compromiso de las Fuerzas Aéreas con el fortalecimiento de sus capacidades institucionales y la construcción de un marco conjunto para el desarrollo aeroespacial y la seguridad hemisférica.

As part of the bilateral cooperation between the Chilean Air Force (FACH) and the Colombian Aerospace Force (FAC), the 10th Bilateral Meeting was held on September 3 and 4, 2025, in Santiago, Chile. This meeting is an important opportunity to strengthen the ties of collaboration between both institutions on topics of common interest.

The meeting aimed to advance the construction of a joint training program in strategic areas such as education and training, operations, space affairs, Antarctic issues, and logistics, with the aim of strengthening roadmaps and guidelines that contribute to the training of future generations of pilots and aerospace professionals. Furthermore, the meeting sought to promote synergies that foster cooperation, as well as the exchange of experiences, lessons learned, and technical knowledge between the two air forces.

The event was chaired by Air Brigade General (A) César Pineda Troncoso, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Chilean Air Force (FACH), and Major General Carlos Fernando Silva Rueda, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Chilean Air Force (FAC). The activities included presentations on the capabilities, priority areas, and institutional work approaches of both institutions in an atmosphere of open and constructive dialogue.

Among the topics discussed, the Chilean Air Force highlighted the progress made in educational programs for officers, especially in the area of ​​aerospace engineering and other aeronautical disciplines, as well as the training processes for non-commissioned officers.

Relevant aspects of the National Satellite System (SNsat) process were also discussed, along with the challenges and challenges involved in developing capabilities such as geospatial systems, microsatellite assembly, and the consolidation of satellite constellations from an integrative perspective that seeks to bring technology to different sectors of society. taking into account doctrinal, governance, scientific research, and innovation aspects. He also presented on the Pillan II aircraft project, aimed at pilot training.

For its part, the FAC presented its organizational structure, functions, and operational capabilities, highlighting the results of Operation ZEUS, a decisive strategy in the fight against transnational organized crime. This operation has impacted not only drug trafficking but also illegal structures dedicated to the illicit exploitation of gold and other natural resources. He also highlighted the positive effects of this strategy on regional security and the opening of new spaces for cooperation with countries in the region to jointly and decisively confront these phenomena.

At the close of the meeting, both air forces signed a cooperation plan that will be developed over the next two years, with the aim of promoting and integrating identified opportunities and areas of common interest.

Finally, this agreement reaffirms the Air Force’s commitment to strengthening its institutional capabilities and building a joint framework for aerospace development and hemispheric security.
