PRESIDENTE GUSTAVO PETRO INCREPA A CONGRESISTAS POR GRITAR “FUERA PETRO” EN INSTALACIÓN DEL CONGRESO.

Dos días después de la polémica instalación de sesiones del Congreso para la última legislatura de su gobierno, el presidente Gustavo Petro expresó su rechazo contra los congresistas que lo cuestionaron y que en coro vociferaron la expresión “fuera Petro”.

Al respecto el mandatario hizo un extenso pronunciamiento a través de su cuenta en la red social X.

“Duré más de 20 años ejerciendo la función de congresista de Colombia, gracias al voto popular. Solo en dos ocasiones, jueces pidieron rectificaciones leves a mis argumentos y acaté las decisiones, corrigiendo.

Siempre en mis debates de control político, busqué la máxima objetividad de mis investigaciones y la certeza de las pruebas que presenté, sea en debates económicos, sea en los debates de la corrupción de alto nivel política y financiera, sea en los debates en las relaciones pavorosas de políticos con la gobernanza paramilitar.

Nunca ví que, a un jefe de estado en su actividad de relación con el congreso, la oposición, a la que siempre pertenecí, nunca fui parlamentario de gobierno, fuera grosera y sin razón y sin argumento.

Supongo que lo que yo mismo experimenté ahora como presidente, exponiendo mis argumentos y las cifras oficiales, algunas, y lo dije, por las fechas preliminares, fuera respondida por la grosería, el insulto y la bajeza.

Gritar «fuera Petro» y otras cosas en boca de congresistas, en el mismo congreso de la República que me ha invitado a hablar, muestra la mayor degradación de la política. Lo soez no es más que la expresión degradada del espíritu, y del poco tamaño del intelecto.

Sin embargo, al alzar mi puño, muchas veces lo he hecho, lo hago como millones de seres humanos lo han hecho en el planeta desde el siglo XIX. Como resistencia y lucha por lo justo. Por la Justicia Social y la Libertad plena.

Mi conciencia está muy tranquila, porque sé que tal grosería repetida ardorosamente por la prensa del poder económico, es el intento de tapar con un dedo, el sol de los resultados de gobierno en lo que más me interesa: la salud, la educación, las oportunidades de vida económica, social y existencial de mis conciudadanos y conciudadanas, tanto de los que votaron por mí, como de quienes no votaron.

Aunque falta un año, espero resistir con la ayuda del pueblo, para mostrar aún más, la profundidad de una obra de gobierno dedicada a la justicia social y la democracia profunda”.

I have never seen a head of state, in his relationship with Congress, the opposition, to which I have always belonged—I was never a government parliamentarian—being rude, unreasonable, and without arguments.

I suppose that what I myself experienced now as president, presenting my arguments and official figures, some of them, and I said this, due to the preliminary dates, were met with rudeness, Insult and baseness.

Shouting «Petro out» and other such things from members of Congress, in the very Congress of the Republic that invited me to speak, demonstrates the greatest degradation of politics. Vulgarity is nothing more than the degraded expression of the spirit and the shortcoming of the intellect.

However, when I raise my fist, I have done so many times, I do so as millions of human beings have done on the planet since the 19th century. As a resistance and a fight for what is just. For Social Justice and full Freedom.

My conscience is very clear, because I know that such rudeness, ardently repeated by the press of economic power, is an attempt to cover up the results of the government with a finger in what matters most to me: health, education, the economic, social, and existential life opportunities of my fellow citizens, both those who voted for me and those who did not.

Although there is still a year left, I hope to resist with the help of the people, to further demonstrate the depth of a government’s work. dedicated to social justice and deep democracy.”
