 Ruben Dario Franco Narvaez: MURIÓ LUIS GERMÁN PUERTA

El conocido profesional y deportista pereirano Luis Germán Puerta Sánchez, murió en horas de la tarde del jueves 24 de abril 2025, a sus 64 años de edad. Su Velación se cumplió en Sacrosanto (Avenida 30 de Agosto Número 49-24). La Misa Exequial en el Templo La Trinidad (Carrera 10 Número 6-57). El sábado 26 de abril 2025: su cremación en el Parque Cementerio La Ofrenda (kilómetro 7 vía Pereira-Armenia).

FAMILIA

Su familia ha disfrutado del aprecio de pereiranos y dosquebrandenses, por sus contribuciones en educación, comunicaciones, civismo, deporte, cultura; y, especialmente, presentes en Juntas de Acción Comunal. Sus padres: Juan de Dios y Eugenia; hogar en que fueron levantados con amor siete hijos: Lucero, Blanca Lucy, Gladys, José Over, Víctor Hugo, Juan de Dios y   Luis Germán.

Luis Germán deja un gran legado para la sociedad, inculcado a sus cuatro hijos: Mauricio, Alejandra; Valentina; y, a Daniel su retoño menor (15 años) fruto de la unión sagrada con la digna Dama Nayid Zapata Cardona.

SERVICIO PÚBLICO Y DEPORTE

Después de capacitarse en la Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Luis Germán Puerta Sánchez prestó sus servicios a la Alcaldías de: Pereira y Dosquebradas. Durante los períodos del alcalde Juan Manuel Arango, se desempeñó como Jefe de Personal. Allí, recuerdo que –conjuntamente- realizamos el Campeonato de Fútbol “La Copa de Paz”, con participación de representativos de Pereira, Dosquebradas, Policía y Selección de Periodistas.

Siempre estuvo vinculado a Juntas de Acción Comunal y a Asociaciones Deportivas (en Pereira y Dosquebradas).

Siendo muy joven fue jugador del Atlético Nacional. Luego… me acompañó, puntualmente, durante 18 años consecutivos, en los encuentros futboleros (los miércoles) en la cancha central de Comfamiliar Risaralda.

Amigo Germancho: tu despedida al infinito coincidió con el vuelo celestial del Papa Futbolero de San Lorenzo “Franciscus”.

Ruben Dario Franco Narvaez: LUIS GERMÁN PUERTA DIED

The well-known professional and athlete from Pereira, Luis Germán Puerta Sánchez, died on the afternoon of Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the age of 64. His wake was held at Sacrosanto (49-24 30 de Agosto Avenue). The funeral Mass was held at La Trinidad Church (6-57 Carrera 10). On Saturday, April 26, 2025, his cremation will take place at La Ofrenda Cemetery Park (kilometer 7 on the Pereira-Armenia highway).

FAMILY

His family has been highly regarded by the people of Pereira and Dosquebradas for their contributions to education, communications, civic affairs, sports, and culture; and, especially, for their presence on Community Action Boards. His parents, Juan de Dios and Eugenia, were the loving parents of seven children: Lucero, Blanca Lucy, Gladys, José Over, Víctor Hugo, Juan de Dios, and Luis Germán.

Luis Germán leaves behind a great legacy for society, which he instilled in his four children: Mauricio, Alejandra, Valentina, and Daniel, his youngest son (15 years old), the fruit of his sacred union with the worthy Lady Nayid Zapata Cardona. PUBLIC SERVICE AND SPORTS

After training at the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Luis Germán Puerta Sánchez served in the mayoralties of Pereira and Dosquebradas. During the terms of Mayor Juan Manuel Arango, he served as Chief of Personnel. There, I remember that we jointly held the «Peace Cup» soccer championship, with the participation of representatives from Pereira, Dosquebradas, the Police, and the Journalists’ Team.

He was always involved with Community Action Boards and Sports Associations (in Pereira and Dosquebradas).

At a very young age, he played for Atlético Nacional. Then… he accompanied me punctually, for 18 consecutive years, to soccer matches (on Wednesdays) at the central field of Comfamiliar Risaralda.
