El presidente de EE. UU. firmó una orden que autoriza ataques militares contra carteles y organizaciones que considera terroristas. En la lista están el ELN, las disidencias de las FARC y el Clan del Golfo.
En un cambio significativo en su política exterior, el presidente Donald Trump firmó una orden ejecutiva que autoriza al Pentágono a desplegar operaciones militares directas contra carteles de droga extranjeros incluidos en la lista de Organizaciones Terroristas Extranjeras (FTO en inglés) del Departamento de Estado.
La medida faculta al gobierno estadounidense a intervenir sin necesidad de autorización del Congreso y abarca grupos como el Cartel de Sinaloa, Tren de Aragua, Mara Salvatrucha y el Cartel de los Soles, vinculado por EE. UU. a Nicolás Maduro .
Además, incluye explícitamente a tres actores armados colombianos: el ELN, las disidencias de la Segunda Marquetalia y del Estado Mayor Central de las FARC, y el Clan del Golfo.
