Venezuela desplegó 15.000 funcionarios entre militares y policías en los estados Zulia y Táchira, fronterizos con Colombia, así lo anunció este lunes el ministro de Interior y Justicia, Diosdado Cabello.

Venezuela mantiene un despliegue militar en puntos estratégicos, el cual ha reforzado desde el anuncio de la fiscal estadounidense Pam Bondi, sobre el aumento a 50 millones por la captura de Nicolás Maduro, así como el despliegue de fuerzas estadounidenses en el Caribe.

Estados Unidos acusa a Maduro liderar el Cartel de los Soles, una organización que se dedicaría al narcotráfico según la Casa Blanca.

Washington también asegura que otros jerarcas del chavismo, como Diosdado Cabello, pertenecen a dicha organización.

Reiteradamente el chavismo ha negado estas acusaciones, alegando que se trata de una matriz errada por parte de Estados Unidos. «El falso Cartel de los Soles es usado como excusa política», insistió Cabello este lunes.

Ante el despliegue en la frontera, Cabello exigió al gobierno de Colombia asegurar sus pasos limítrofes. “El despliegue de 15.000 hombres y mujeres comenzará de inmediato y se extenderá hasta el límite con Táchira. Pedimos al gobierno colombiano que haga lo propio para asegurar la paz en todo el eje fronterizo”

Cabello indicó que el refuerzo incluye tropas, aviación, medios fluviales y drones para «desalojar» a quienes busquen instalarse en la frontera para cometer delitos.

“Tenemos estos grupos en todo el país, dependiendo de la tarea que le corresponda. Con base en eso, los dotamos de personal, medios, aviones, barcos, etc. Esto está bajo control operacional del Ceofanb”, dijo el ministro de Interior.

“La respuesta es garantizar la paz y la seguridad de los venezolanos. Es una unidad de combate eficiente para responder rápidamente ante cualquier eventualidad”, aseguró.

Por otro lado, Cabello informó que en 2025 su país ha incautado 52 toneladas de drogas, es decir unos 52.769 kilos de droga . También dijo que han encontrado en estas operaciones, 153.000 kilogramos de precursores químicos utilizados para la producción de estupefacientes.

Indicó además que se han incautado más de 480 fusiles, armas cortas y largas, cargadores y cartuchos. Muchos de ellos, dijo, abandonados por grupos delincuenciales en campamentos desmantelados en Zulia, Táchira, Falcón y Delta Amacuro.

El ministro agregó que han destruido 400 aeronaves, 92 pistas clandestinas, 28 estructuras logísticas, 5 semisumergibles y 80 motores de alta potencia utilizados para el tráfico ilícito. “Aquí sí combatimos la droga de raíz, no de manera coyuntural”.

Venezuela deployed 15,000 military personnel and police officers in the states of Zulia and Táchira, bordering Colombia, as announced Monday by Interior and Justice Minister Diosdado Cabello.

Venezuela maintains a military deployment at strategic points, which it has reinforced since U.S. Attorney Pam Bondi announced the increase to $50 million for the capture of Nicolás Maduro, as well as the deployment of U.S. forces in the Caribbean.

The United States accuses Maduro of leading the Cartel of the Suns, an organization allegedly involved in drug trafficking, according to the White House.

Washington also claims that other Chavista leaders, such as Diosdado Cabello, belong to that organization.

Chavismo has repeatedly denied these accusations, claiming they are a flawed approach by the United States. «The fake Cartel of the Suns is being used as a political excuse,» Cabello insisted this Monday.

Regarding the deployment on the border, Cabello demanded that the Colombian government secure its border crossings. «The deployment of 15,000 men and women will begin immediately and will extend to the border with Táchira. We ask the Colombian government to do the same to ensure peace along the entire border.»

Cabello indicated that the reinforcement includes troops, aircraft, riverine resources, and drones to «evict» those seeking to establish themselves on the border to commit crimes.

«We have these groups throughout the country, depending on their assigned task. Based on that, we provide them with personnel, resources, aircraft, ships, etc. This is under the operational control of the Ceofanb,» said the Minister of the Interior.

“The answer is to guarantee the peace and security of Venezuelans. It is an efficient combat unit capable of responding quickly to any eventuality,” he stated.

On the other hand, Cabello reported that in 2025 his country seized 52 tons of drugs, or approximately 52,769 kilos. He also said that 153,000 kilograms of chemical precursors used in drug production have been found in these operations.

He also indicated that more than 480 rifles, handguns, and long weapons, magazines, and cartridges have been seized. Many of them, he said, were abandoned by criminal groups in dismantled camps in Zulia, Táchira, Falcón, and Delta Amacuro.
