Los Gaula del Ejército y la Policía neutralizan red de extorsión que intimidaba a comerciantes del Huila.

Los capturados se identificaban como integrantes de un grupo armado organizado residual.

En una operación que combinó inteligencia militar, coordinación interinstitucional y una oportuna denuncia ciudadana, el Gaula Militar de la Novena Brigada, en trabajo articulado con el Gaula de la Policía Huila, logró la captura en flagrancia de dos personas que venían extorsionando a comerciantes del departamento, haciéndose pasar por integrantes del Frente Darío Gutiérrez.

La acción se desarrolló en el casco urbano del municipio de Tello, donde fueron capturados en flagrancia una mujer de 24 años y un hombre de 37 años, justo en el momento en que recibían la suma de 10 millones de pesos. Al parecer, los sujetos intimidaban a sus víctimas mediante llamadas extorsivas, exigiendo dinero a cambio de permitirles continuar con sus actividades económicas en Neiva y zonas aledañas.

Durante el procedimiento fueron incautados una motocicleta utilizada para sus desplazamientos, dos teléfonos celulares que ahora son pieza clave en la investigación, un documento tipo paz y salvo con logos ilegales alusivos al grupo residual, así como el dinero exigido a la víctima. Se estableció, además, que el capturado presenta antecedentes judiciales por violencia intrafamiliar, tráfico de estupefacientes, hurto y lesiones personales.

Este resultado no solo frena una cadena delictiva que afectaba directamente el sustento de familias trabajadoras, sino que también desarticula una dinámica de miedo que pretendía reinstalarse en la región bajo el uso del nombre de antiguas estructuras armadas. El mensaje es claro: «denunciar sí funciona».

«El Huila es un territorio de gente que trabaja y progresa. Nuestra labor es garantizarles esa tranquilidad y acompañar a quienes se ven amenazados. Seguiremos actuando con determinación frente a cualquier forma de intimidación criminal», destacó el mayor Anderson Castañeda, comandante del Gaula Militar Huila.

El Ejército Nacional reitera su llamado a la ciudadanía para denunciar cualquier intento de extorsión a través de las líneas gratuitas 147 y 107, disponibles las 24 horas del día. La seguridad se construye entre todos, y cada denuncia marca la diferencia.

It was also established that the arrested individual has a criminal record for domestic violence, drug trafficking, theft, and assault.

This outcome not only halts a criminal network that directly impacted the livelihoods of working families but also dismantles a climate of fear that sought to re-establish itself in the region under the guise of former armed groups. The message is clear: «Reporting crimes works.»
