La Iglesia católica, se divide en numerosas Iglesias Particulares, que reciben el nombre de Diócesis.
Por lo tanto, la Diócesis es una porción del pueblo de Dios, que contiene en sí todos los elementos fundamentales para asegurar la presencia de Cristo Salvador y que es pastoreada por un sucesor de los apóstoles que reciben el nombre de obispo.
Corresponde al Papa crear las Diócesis la de Pereira fue fundada por Papa Pio XII, el 17 de diciembre de l952.

The Catholic Church is divided into numerous Particular Churches, which receive the name of Diocese.
Therefore, the Diocese is a portion of the people of God, which contains in itself all the fundamental elements to ensure the presence of Christ the Savior and which is shepherded by a successor of the apostles who receive the name of bishop.
Corresponde al Papa crear la Diócesis de Pereira fue fundada por el Papa Pío XII, el 17 de diciembre de l952.
