In the first military operation carried out in the village of La India, Alto San Miguel, in Tibú, six illegal structures used for the production of cocaine base were destroyed in a controlled manner. These structures were allegedly part of the illicit economies of the ELN armed group, Luis Enrique León Guerra Front.

At the site, 1,740 gallons of cocaine base suspension, 1,440 gallons of diesel fuel, and 879 kilograms of solid supplies necessary for drug production were seized.

Additionally, two seedling nurseries containing 6,000 coca plants were destroyed.

Meanwhile, in the Campo Alicia village, in the municipality of El Zulia, the second military operation was carried out, where troops from the 2nd Counter-Narcotics Brigade discovered a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory belonging to the ELN’s Juan Fernando Porras Martínez Front, valued at 2.672 billion pesos. There, they found 405 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 149 kilograms of cocaine base, 105 gallons of cocaine hydrochloride suspension, and 151 gallons of diesel fuel.

Intelligence information confirmed that the drugs produced in these cocaine production facilities would be sold in Central American countries and the United States. Furthermore, the operation prevented the distribution of approximately 405,000 doses of cocaine.

The Colombian National Army will continue to confront the illicit economies of armed groups that threaten the nation’s stability, through the deployment of its unique capabilities throughout the country. It will also strive to ensure the peace and well-being of its citizens.
