DARIO VALENCIA URIBE.

El Padre Darío había nacido hace 59 años en La Bella población de Risaralda Caldas , llamada el Mirador del Viento sus padres Elí Valencia y Doris Uribe, su hermanos Dora y Diego.

Allí ejerció su profesión al lado del padre Román Zapata quien fue su inspiración  para seguir en su vida espiritual.

Ingreso al seminario Conciliar de la Inmaculada Concepción de María Santísima, donde se distinguió por su inteligencia, capacidad de servicio experto en música y canto, y ante todo su deseo de amar a Cristo.

Su primera misa de adopción, hace 33 años, después de recibir la consagración  de manos del entonces obispo de Pereira  y después Cardenal, Darío , en honor del nuevo sacerdote.

Su vida sacerdotal la comenzó con decoro y alegría en la zona indígena de Purembará donde desempeño con amor su vida pastoral, aún en medio de grades dificultades.

Allí aprendió el Emberá, predicó y se consagro a ellos por espacio de dos años.

Después fu enviado con su amigo y hermano del alma. Padre Alirio Raigoza, por orden del obispo Castrillón, a realizar estudios superiores a Roma , en la Universidad más antigua  de Europa “la Gregoriana”, perteneciente a los Jesuitas, allí se inició  en Teleología Dogmática, y su compañero en derecho Canónica.

Regresó a Colombia e inmediatamente sus superiores vieron la talla de ser humano y gran sacerdote que tenían, le dieron las más grandes responsabilidades que se puedan dar en una Diócesis, ser rector del Semanario Mayor donde se forman los futuros sacerdotes y posteriormente de la Universidad católica de Pereira.

Fue designado por el obispo Suescún Mutis para fundar la Escuela de Teología Diocesana, en donde se han formado centenares de laicos, ayudado por su hermana Valentina Sor Lilian Rivero.

Fue párroco consumado de Pereira, Apía, Anserma y su último y Gran amor, “María Auxiliadora”, en la ciudad.

Gran predicador, con una presentación personal digna de su ministerio, gran amigo, hijo, tío, hermano y conocedor como ninguno de los asuntos administrativos de la Iglesia.

Transparente y diáfano.

El libro primero de Samuel en las Sagradas Escrituras nos dice que todos tenemos que morir, pues no nos pertenecemos, somos de allá arriba donde Dios nos espera.

El Sacerdote Darío Valencia Uribe, creyó en Cristo, él es la vida, y con toda seguridad, ya hoy esta con él en su presencia.

Con Santa Teresa de Jesús, mística del siglo XVI, decimos: “mira que el amor es fuerte, vida, no; me seas molesta; mira que solo me resta, para ganarte, perderte.

. Vivo sin vivir en mí.

Father Darío was born 59 years ago in the beautiful town of Risaralda Caldas, called Mirador del Viento by his parents Elí Valencia and Doris Uribe, his siblings Dora and Diego.

There he practiced his profession alongside Father Román Zapata who was his inspiration to continue in his spiritual life.

He entered the Conciliar Seminary of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Holy Mary, where he distinguished himself by his intelligence, capacity for expert service in music and singing, and above all his desire to love Christ.

His first mass of adoption, 33 years ago, after receiving the consecration from the hands of the then bishop of Pereira and later Cardinal, Darío, in honor of the new priest.

His priestly life began with decorum and joy in the indigenous area of ​​Purembará where he lovingly carried out his pastoral life, even in the midst of great difficulties.

There he learned the Emberá, preached and consecrated himself to them for two years.

Later he was sent with his friend and soul brother, Father Alirio Raigoza, by order of Bishop Castrillón, to carry out higher studies in Rome, at the oldest University in Europe, «the Gregorian», belonging to the Jesuits, there he began in Dogmatic Teleology, and his companion in Canon Law.

He returned to Colombia and immediately his superiors saw the stature of a human being and a great priest that he had, they gave him the greatest responsibilities that can be given in a Diocese, to be rector of the Semanario Mayor where future priests are trained and later of the Catholic University of Pereira.

He was appointed by Bishop Suescún Mutis to found the Diocesan School of Theology, where hundreds of lay people have been trained, helped by his sister Valentina Sor Lilian Rivero.

He was an accomplished parish priest of Pereira, Apía, Anserma and his last and great love, “María Auxiliadora”, in the city.

A great preacher, with a personal presentation worthy of his ministry, a great friend, son, uncle, brother and knowledgeable like no one else about the administrative matters of the Church.

Transparent and clear.

The first book of Samuel in the Holy Scriptures tells us that we all have to die, because we do not belong to ourselves, we are from up there where God awaits us.

The Priest Darío Valencia Uribe believed in Christ, he is life, and with all certainty, he is already with him in his presence today.

With Saint Teresa of Jesus, a mystic of the 16th century, we say: “Look, love is strong, life, no; don’t be annoying me; Look, all I have left to do to win you is to lose you.

. I live without living in myself.
