En el marco del Plan de Campaña Ayacucho Plus, tropas del Batallón de Infantería Aerotransportado N.° 31 Rifles, adscritas a la Décima Primera Brigada del Ejército Nacional, sostuvieron combates con el grupo armado organizado (GAO) Clan del Golfo, lo que produjo la muerte en desarrollo de operaciones militares de un presunto integrante de la Subestructura Julio César Vargas y la incautación de abundante material de guerra, intendencia y comunicaciones.

El hecho se registró en la vereda San José de Génova, jurisdicción del municipio de Valdivia, Antioquia. Entre los elementos hallados en el lugar se encontraron 8 fusiles, 29 proveedores, y más de 2000 cartuchos de diferentes calibres.

Adicionalmente, fueron incautadas prendas y artículos de uso privativo de las Fuerzas Militares, como 11 guerreras, 10 pantalones tipo camaleón, 24 buzos tácticos, 12 equipos de campaña, 8 chalecos, 9 cintelas, 3 bolsos de asalto y 6 sudaderas, entre otros elementos.

En cuanto al material de comunicaciones, las tropas ubicaron 2 radios, baterías y antenas. De igual manera, los uniformados localizaron 11 brazaletes alusivos a la Subestructura Julio César Vargas.  

En el desarrollo de la operación, uno de los soldados resultó herido, y con apoyo de la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana fue evacuado de manera inmediata hacia la ciudad de Medellín, donde está siendo atendido en un centro asistencial.

Esta subestructura ha sido golpeada de forma contundente en los últimos dos meses, sufriendo afectaciones constantes a través de las operaciones ofensivas, con incautaciones de material de guerra, intendencia y comunicaciones. Con estas acciones se debilita el componente logístico y su capacidad de llevar a cabo actividades ilícitas que ponen en riesgo la seguridad de las comunidades de esta zona del norte de Antioquia.

El Ejército Nacional seguirá trabajando incansablemente para combatir el accionar delictivo de los grupos armados organizados que operan en esta región del país, neutralizar los factores de criminalidad y proteger a la población civil.

As part of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, troops from the 31st Airborne Infantry Battalion, attached to the Eleventh Brigade of the National Army, engaged in combat with the organized armed group (GAO) Clan del Golfo. This resulted in the death of a suspected member of the Julio César Vargas Substructure during military operations and the seizure of a large amount of war material, supplies, and communications equipment.

The incident occurred in the village of San José de Génova, within the municipality of Valdivia, Antioquia. Among the items found at the scene were eight rifles, 29 magazines, and more than 2,000 cartridges of various calibers.

Additionally, clothing and items exclusively for the military were seized, including 11 jackets, 10 chameleon-style pants, 24 tactical overalls, 12 items of field equipment, 8 vests, 9 belts, 3 assault bags, and 6 sweatshirts, among other items.

Regarding communications equipment, troops located two radios, batteries, and antennas. Likewise, uniformed personnel found 11 armbands alluding to the Julio César Vargas Substructure.

During the operation, one soldier was injured, and with support from the Colombian Aerospace Force, he was immediately evacuated to the city of Medellín, where he is being treated in a medical center.

This substructure has been severely affected over the past two months, suffering constant damage through offensive operations, with seizures of war, supplies, and communications equipment. These actions weaken the logistical component and its ability to carry out illicit activities that jeopardize the security of the communities in this area of ​​northern Antioquia.

The National Army will continue working tirelessly to combat the criminal activities of organized armed groups operating in this region of the country, neutralize criminal activity, and protect the civilian population.
