Desde 1995 en el seno de Conferencia Episcopal Colombiana, empezó un trabajo político que se denominó Comisión de Conciliación Nacional.

A raíz de la firma del Acuerdo de Paz, su trabajo se intensificó en la investigación de lo que verdaderamente necesitan las diferentes regiones para que eso que llaman Paz, no sea un término manoseado y pisoteado, sino que sea algo tangible.

Dos representantes de la Comisión de Conciliación, se hicieron presentes en compañía del obispo Rigoberto Corredor Bermúdez, ante los medios de comunicación, para presentarles lo que ellos denominan Nuevo Acuerdo Nacional de Mínimos: Construcción de paz territorial desde el diálogo social en Colombia.

La Iglesia Católica ha ido a la par de la historia del país desde la época de la Colonia y aunque desde 1991 Colombia fue declarada un estado Laico, eso no ha impedido que la Iglesia tenga un papel protagonista.

Since 1995, within the Colombian Episcopal Conference, political work began that was called the National Conciliation Commission.

Following the signing of the Peace Agreement, their work intensified in the investigation of what the different regions truly need so that what they call Peace is not a term used and trampled, but rather something tangible.

Two representatives of the Conciliation Commission, accompanied by Bishop Rigoberto Corredor Bermúdez, were present before the media, to present what they call the New National Minimum Agreement: Construction of territorial peace through social dialogue in Colombia. The Catholic Church has kept pace with the country’s history since the colonial era and although Colombia was declared a Secular state in 1991, that has not prevented the Church from playing a leading role.
