“Que esta noche funcionen todos los hechizos de amor y felicidad”.

Nuestra querendona Pereira, siempre se ha vestido de luces en la fiesta de Halloween. La alegría de los niños le da vida a los parques, y su recorrido se extiende por todas las calles de nuestra ciudad, llenando el ambiente de magia y disfraces coloridos.

Hoy, viernes 31 de octubre 2025, trae consigo una gran sorpresa. Los escenarios festivos se verán invadidos por un desfile peculiar. Veremos a una gran cantidad de candidatos políticos, luciendo como camaleones sus llamativos colores, buscando captar la atención en medio de la algarabía. No se quedan atrás los administradores públicos, quienes intentarán ganarse el agradecimiento de los padres de familia al repartir dulces a los más pequeños, en un intento por endulzar el camino hacia las urnas.

La escena se tornará aún más pintoresca con la aparición de varios jóvenes, disfrazados de jugadores del Deportivo Pereira. Con costales al hombro, pedirán “mercado” y clamarán que se están “muriendo de hambre” por no recibir los salarios que les corresponden por su trabajo, una metáfora que resuena con fuerza en tiempos de incertidumbre económica.

Con el permiso de directivas de Hogares de Paso, saldrán al centro pereirano, innumerables octogenarios, tratando de encontrar -en medio del jolgorio- a sus hijos, nietos, bisnietos y tátara-tarara-tarara…dirán: “quiero verlos, aunque sea por un instante”.

Un grupo numeroso de enfermos marcharán, con bandera blanca en mano y altavoces, gritando: “Por favor no nos dejen morir. Queremos que nos entreguen los medicamentos, sin asistir a las colas de la muerte”.

Y en medio de este carnaval de disfraces y mensajes, hará su aparición el desfile de los periodistas, con sus celulares en acción. Su llamado será contundente: pedirán pleno respeto para los niños, exigirán el fin del maltrato infantil y la explotación sexual, y abogarán por una educación libre de adoctrinamientos revolucionarios, promoviendo un desarrollo integral y sin sesgos.

Halloween in Pereira

“May all spells of love and happiness work tonight.”

Our beloved Pereira has always been adorned with lights for Halloween. The joy of the children brings the parks to life, and their procession extends through all the streets of our city, filling the air with magic and colorful costumes.

Today, Friday, October 31, 2025, brings a big surprise. The festive atmosphere will be invaded by a peculiar parade. We will see a large number of political candidates, sporting their bright colors like chameleons, seeking to capture attention amidst the revelry. Public officials will also be present, trying to win the gratitude of parents by handing out candy to the little ones, in an attempt to sweeten the path to the polls.

The scene will become even more picturesque with the appearance of several young people dressed as Deportivo Pereira players. With sacks slung over their shoulders, they will ask for food and cry out that they are «starving» because they haven’t received the wages they are owed for their work—a metaphor that resonates powerfully in times of economic uncertainty.

With permission from the directors of the shelters, countless octogenarians will take to the streets of downtown Pereira, trying to find—amidst the revelry—their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren… saying, «I want to see you, even if just for a moment.»

A large group of sick people will march, carrying white flags and loudspeakers, shouting, «Please don’t let us die. We want our medications, without having to stand in these death lines.»

And amidst this carnival of costumes and messages, the parade of journalists will make its appearance, their cell phones in action. Their call will be forceful: they will demand full respect for children, an end to child abuse and sexual exploitation, and an advocacy for an education free from revolutionary indoctrination, promoting holistic and unbiased development.
