Durante cinco días, alrededor de 180 periodistas de todo el país se reunieron en Tumaco para el XXIX Congreso Nacional de Delegados del CNP Colombia.

Entre los hitos más relevantes del encuentro se destacan la reactivación de la seccional Pasto – Nariño, y la ratificación de convenios con la UNAD y la Uniminuto, instituciones que respaldan el proceso de profesionalización de los miembros del CNP a nivel nacional.

También se contó con la presencia de Sofía Jaramillo, directora ejecutiva de la Fundación para la Libertad de Prensa (FLIP), fortaleciendo así el compromiso por la protección de los periodistas en Colombia.

Uno de los momentos más significativos fue la ceremonia de reconocimientos, donde se premiaron categorías como “Mejor periodista del año”, “Vida y obra de un periodista” y “Vida y obra de un gremialista”.
El tumaqueño Pache Andrade fue homenajeado por su destacada trayectoria como narrador deportivo. Durante su intervención agradeció el reconocimiento y celebró poder compartir escenario con su colega y amigo Javier Hernández Bonnet:

“Dios ha querido que sea junto a un hermano de profesión como Javier Hernández, a quien quiero y admiro realmente como un maravilloso conductor de lo mejor del periodismo deportivo colombiano”, expresó.

Por su parte, Javier Hernández Bonnet fue galardonado como mejor comentarista deportivo. Durante su estancia en Tumaco, resaltó la importancia del reconocimiento recibido:

“Para mí ha sido una jornada maravillosa, especialmente porque el mejor valor de este encuentro y de este premio es que es un reconocimiento entregado por los mismos periodistas”.

Asimismo, Merce Seidel, periodista de la Emisora de Paz de Radio Nacional en Tumaco, recibió una distinción especial por su liderazgo y labor periodística en la región.

Más allá de los reconocimientos, el evento fue una oportunidad para visibilizar las riquezas naturales y culturales del territorio. Los asistentes visitaron el Museo Vivo Cultural en la Escuela Taller de Tumaco, recorrieron las playas del Bajito Sanador, conocieron la historia del milagro de la ola, participaron en actividades de avistamiento de ballenas y disfrutaron de las playas de Boca Grande y El Morro.

La gestora social del municipio de Tumaco, Ximena Pineda, expresó su alegría por el impacto del evento:

“Figuras reconocidas hoy están aquí, desde nuestro territorio, apoyándonos en este evento tan positivo. Es un llamado para que vengan y conozcan nuestro Tumaco”.

Durante los cinco días del congreso, los periodistas invitados no solo compartieron sus conocimientos y experiencias, sino que también promovieron en sus regiones la majestuosidad del mar, la calidez de los tumaqueños, la riqueza cultural y el potencial turístico de Tumaco, contribuyendo así a dinamizar la economía local.

Among the most significant milestones of the meeting were the reactivation of the Pasto-Nariño branch and the ratification of agreements with UNAD and Uniminuto, institutions that support the professionalization process of CNP members nationwide.

Sofía Jaramillo, executive director of the Foundation for Press Freedom (FLIP), was also present, thus strengthening the commitment to the protection of journalists in Colombia.

One of the most significant moments was the awards ceremony, where prizes were awarded in categories such as «Best Journalist of the Year,» «Life and Work of a Journalist,» and «Life and Work of a Union Member.»
Pache Andrade, from Tumaco, was honored for his outstanding career as a sports commentator. During his speech, he expressed his gratitude for the recognition and celebrated sharing the stage with his colleague and friend Javier Hernández Bonnet:

«God has chosen for me to be with a brother in the profession like Javier Hernández, whom I truly love and admire as a wonderful presenter of the best Colombian sports journalism,» he expressed.

For his part, Javier Hernández Bonnet was honored as best sports commentator. During his stay in Tumaco, he emphasized the importance of the recognition he received:

«For me, it has been a wonderful day, especially because the greatest value of this event and this award is that it is a recognition given by the journalists themselves.»

Likewise, Merce Seidel, a journalist with Radio Nacional’s Peace Station in Tumaco, received a special award for her leadership and journalistic work in the region.

Beyond the recognition, the event was an opportunity to highlight the region’s natural and cultural riches. Attendees visited the Museo Vivo Cultural at the Tumaco Workshop School, toured the beaches of Bajito Sanador, learned the story of the miracle of the wave, participated in whale watching activities, and enjoyed the beaches of Boca Grande and El Morro.

The social manager of the municipality of Tumaco, Ximena Pineda, expressed her joy at the event’s impact:
