Ejército Nacional logró incautar más de 6 toneladas de estaño avaluadas en un millón de dólares que tendrían como destino China.

En una operación militar simultánea que se desarrolló entre Puerto Carreño, en Vichada, y Bogotá, tropas del Gaula Militar de Oriente colombiano y la Sijín de la Policía lograron incautar un gigantesco cargamento de mineral previamente identificado como estaño, el cual estaría avaluado en más de un millón de dólares.

02 March 2026 07:09 AMEn desarrollo del Plan Ayacucho y la ejecución de operaciones coordinadas, la Vigésima Octava Brigada, a través del Gaula Militar de Oriente colombiano, en una operación conjunta con la Armada Nacional y la Fuerza Aeroespacial colombiana, coordinada e interinstitucional con la Sijín de la Policía Nacional, CTI de la Fiscalía y la Dirección de impuestos y aduanas nacionales, logró frustrar el envío y comercialización de un gigantesco cargamento de un mineral previamente identificado como estaño, el cual saldría desde puerto Carreño, en Vichada, hacia la ciudad de Bogotá, con destino final a China.

Esta operación, que se dio de manera simultánea entre Puerto Carreño y Bogotá, permitió conocer a través de inteligencia militar, que desde el Aeropuerto Germán Olano, ubicado en la capital del Vichada, saldrían varias toneladas de mineral con características que indicarían que se trataría de estaño, lo que llevó a que se actuara de manera inmediata, y se incautaran más de 380 lingotes de este mineral. Posteriormente, las autoridades que se encontraban en el Aeropuerto Internacional El Dorado realizaron una segunda fase de esta operación, incautando más de 50 lingotes que estarían listos para ser enviados al exterior.

Según inteligencia militar, este mineral proviene de Venezuela con ruta por Puerto Carreño hacia la capital del país. El objetivo criminal para este cargarmento era ingresarlo a mercados internacionales, principalmente ubicados en Asia; cabe resaltar que un kilo de este mineral en Colombia tendría un valor aproximado de 50 dólares.

Las labores de investigación y verificación de la incautación del material continúan con personal experto en identificación de minerales.

Con este resultado se logra dar un golpe contundente al corazón de las economías ilícitas de los diferentes grupos armados organizados que delinquen no solo en territorio colombiano, además de la protección de yacimientos mineros protegidos, evitando la contaminación del medio ambiente en zonas tan biodiversas como la Orinoquía. 
Mediante la acción unificada, el Ejército Nacional, a través de sus tropas, continuará atacando los factores de inestabilidad que atenten contra el medio ambiente y los recursos naturales de la región.

In a simultaneous military operation carried out between Puerto Carreño, in Vichada, and Bogotá, troops from the Colombian Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Group) and the Sijín (Criminal Investigation Division) of the National Police seized a massive shipment of the mineral, previously identified as tin, valued at more than one million dollars.

As part of Plan Ayacucho and through coordinated operations, the 28th Brigade, through the Colombian Military Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Group (GAULA) of Eastern Colombia, in a joint operation with the Colombian Navy and Aerospace Force, and coordinated with the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Division (SIJIN), the Attorney General’s Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), and the National Directorate of Taxes and Customs, successfully thwarted the shipment and sale of a massive cargo of a mineral previously identified as tin. The shipment was to depart from Puerto Carreño, in Vichada, bound for Bogotá, with its final destination being China.

This operation, carried out simultaneously between Puerto Carreño and Bogotá, revealed through military intelligence that several tons of mineral with characteristics indicating it was tin would be leaving from Germán Olano Airport, located in the capital of Vichada. This prompted immediate action, resulting in the seizure of more than 380 ingots of this mineral. Subsequently, authorities at El Dorado International Airport conducted a second phase of the operation, seizing more than 50 ingots that were ready to be shipped abroad.

According to military intelligence, this mineral originated in Venezuela and was being transported through Puerto Carreño to the capital. The criminal objective for this shipment was to introduce it into international markets, primarily in Asia. It is worth noting that one kilogram of this mineral would have an approximate value of $50 in Colombia.

The investigation and verification of the seized material are ongoing, with personnel specializing in mineral identification.

This result deals a decisive blow to the heart of the illicit economies of the various organized armed groups operating not only in Colombian territory, but also protects protected mining deposits, preventing environmental contamination in biodiverse areas such as the Orinoquía region.

Through this unified action, the National Army, through its troops, will continue to combat the factors of instability that threaten the environment and natural resources of the region.
