Los sujetos también eran los encargados de extorsionar a los habitantes de los municipios de Rovira, Roncesvalles, Cajamarca e Ibagué, en Tolima.

En las últimas horas, hasta la vereda Tuamo, del municipio de Rovira, llegaron los soldados del Gaula Militar Tolima, de la Sexta Brigada, en coordinación con el Gaula de la Policía Tolima y el apoyo del Comando Aéreo de Combate N.º 4, quienes lograron la captura de dos integrantes del anillo de seguridad del cabecilla del grupo armado organizado residual (GAO-r) Frente Joaquín González, alias Marcos, momentos en que se encontraban asegurando uno de los puntos a donde se esperaba la llegada de este sujeto.

Gracias a las labores de inteligencia militar, los dos hombres, quienes no solo garantizaban la seguridad en los puntos donde se movía el cabecilla, sino también hacían los cobros extorsivos citando a los ganaderos, cafeteros, comerciantes y transportadores de los municipios de Rovira, Roncesvalles, Cajamarca e Ibagué, durante el procedimiento se incautaron armas largas, cortas, municiones de diferentes calibres y material de intendencia de uso privativo de las Fuerzas Militares.

Los hombres fueron dejados a disposición de la autoridad competente por los delitos de concierto para delinquir y porte y tráfico de armas de fuego.

Este resultado operacional contribuye a que no se permita la expansión del control territorial delictivo y planes estratégicos del GAO-r Bloque Jorge Suárez Briceño, facción de alias Calarcá, que buscan mantener activos los corredores de movilidad entre Quindío, Valle del Cauca y Tolima para garantizar sus líneas de abastecimiento logístico, narcotráfico y articular las redes de apoyo al terrorismo en toda esta parte del centro-occidente del país.

La Sexta Brigada continúa con el compromiso de debilitar el accionar armado de estos grupos ilegales, así mismo, velar por la protección y permitir la gobernabilidad en el departamento del Tolima.

In recent hours, soldiers from the Tolima Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Group), of the Sixth Brigade, in coordination with the Tolima Police Gaula and with support from Air Combat Command No. 4, arrived in the village of Tuamo, in the municipality of Rovira. They captured two members of the security detail of alias Marcos, leader of the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) Joaquín González Front, while they were securing one of the points where his arrival was expected.

Thanks to military intelligence work, the two men, who not only ensured security in the areas where the ringleader operated but also carried out extortion by summoning ranchers, coffee growers, merchants, and transporters in the municipalities of Rovira, Roncesvalles, Cajamarca, and Ibagué, were apprehended. During the operation, authorities seized long guns, handguns, ammunition of various calibers, and military equipment restricted to the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.

The men were turned over to the appropriate authorities on charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and illegal possession and trafficking of firearms.

This operational result helps prevent the expansion of criminal territorial control and strategic plans of the GAO-r Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc, a faction led by alias Calarcá, which seeks to maintain active mobility corridors between Quindío, Valle del Cauca, and Tolima to guarantee their logistical supply lines, drug trafficking, and to coordinate terrorist support networks throughout this part of the central-western region of the country.

The Sixth Brigade remains committed to weakening the armed actions of these illegal groups, as well as ensuring protection and governance in the department of Tolima.
