Pereira volverá a ser sede de un certamen deportivo mundial,. Así como sucedió en el año 2011 con el campeonato del mundo Sub-20 de fútbol.

Es así como la Perla del Otún recibirá desde este jueves 25 de abril al 27 del mismo mes en el Complejo Acuático de la Villa Olímpica, el Mundial Universitario de Natación coon Atletas, donde participarán un total de 150 deportistas representando a 17 países

La Selección Colombia quiere dejar el título en el país yen su nómina contará  con dos risaraldenses:  se trata de Angeli Rodríguez y Santiago Muñoz, quienes tendrán alegría doble al estrenarse en este importante certamen y más siendo anfitriones , compitiendo en las piscinas donde han ido construyendo paso a paso su proceso deportivo Porque escogieron a Pereira.

Este escenario que tiene la ciudad para este tipo de eventos, nos obbiga a todos a seguir apoyando el tema de los diferentes deportes para que en Pereira se realicen este tipo de certámenes.

Creo que hoy hay que resaltar muchísimo este tipo de engranaje entre el Gobernador de Risaralda Juan Diego Patiño Ochoa y el al Alcalde de Pereira, Mauricio Salazar Peláez  para desarrollar estos eventos”. Añadió William Peña, director del Mundial

Pereira will once again host a world sporting event. Just as it happened in 2011 with the U-20 world soccer championship.
