En declaraciones contundentes, el Defensor del Pueblo de Colombia Carlos Camargo Asís, ha urgido a los autoridades gubernamentales a implementar acciones preventivas ante la creciente amenaza de deslizamientos de tierra, lodo, y piedra en diferentes regiones del país.

La advertencia surge en medio de pronósticos alarmantes emitidos por Instituto de Hidrología, Meteorología y estudios ambientales (Ideam), que señalan un aumento de las precipitaciones  y riesgos asociados

In forceful statements, the Ombudsman of Colombia Carlos Camargo Asís has urged government authorities to implement preventive actions in the face of the growing threat of landslides, mud, and stones in different regions of the country.

The warning comes amid alarming forecasts issued by the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam), which indicate an increase in precipitation and associated risks.

Emphasizing the need for effective disaster risk management, Camargo insisted that national authorities consolidate adequate instances and anticipatory plans, especially in the context of the El Niño climate phenomenon, which has already impacted various regions of the country since the beginning of November 2023. .giones del país desde principios de noviembre de 2023.
