T.P. 0222 ISSUED BY THE MINISTRY
OF NATIONAL EDUCATION.
After complying with a guardianship ruling, the Tenth Municipal Criminal Court with Judgment Functions imposed a sanction on the current leader of the Pereiranos, Mauricio Salazar Peláez, and the Secretary of Social Development, corresponding to 5 days of arrest and a financial fine.
These sanctions are due to the fact that the mayor and the Secretary of Social Development did not comply with the guardianship ruling issued on December 29, 2023, which ordered: “Carry out the corresponding actions, procedures and procedures aimed at attending to and ensuring the rights of the vulnerable population found in the Pereira mayor’s shelter program for homeless people… until January 20, 2024.
Given this sanction, the mayor, Mauricio Salazar Peláez, assured that “they want to force me to continue with the Street Dweller Farm project, among other things, because it provides five meals a day to each inhabitant.
My proposal is to establish a temporary shelter that has a much lower cost, in order to provide food to children and older adults who are currently enduring hunger.
